That's at an international school tournament here in Rome, the teachers at the other schools, whom I know well, said "I see you have influenced this years strip" one of them a West Ham fan is brining over club kits for his team for next season.

In Prima Porta they all know who Sunderland are and one bar even has an SAFC calendar we donated.

Are people allowed to enter shots in the comp that they have posted in the 'Inspired by the theme...' thread?

Don't think anyone has yet - but in case it does happen I think it's unfair as it allows you to get feedback on the shot from the 'judges' before you enter it which would allow you to guage how well it will be received in the competition.

Not covered in the rules but in the spirit of the competition entries really should be pictures that haven't appeared on the boards before.

Kind of agree.

I have a back up shot that I've held off posting for that very reason. It's not very good like.

Re: SMB Photography Competition Round 5 - Motion - Discussion Thread

is this really a rule?
Yes, because some people have complained about criticism of photographs putting them off entering or something. When you enter the comp, you have to put "C&C welcome" (comments and critique (?) ). Most have put C&C though, just don't talk about the other pictures.

All of mine in there are ones I took for the competition and have personally rejected - although it does raise the question of what to do if I don't get anything better in the next ten days!

Re: SMB Photography Competition Round 5 - Motion - Discussion Thread

Finding it really tough to get the shot I want, despite spending hours on it and taking several hundred photographs.

Can we get an extension if I don't have it done by the end of May? Sometime in August would probably work.

Voting will be interesting this month - so many good pictures and so many different techniques/takes on the theme.

I love all the pics so far!

Concurred - each of the pics are quite different too.

Cracking theme.

with the quality of this month's entries I think it would be best if we can vote for more than one

Re: SMB Photography Competition Round 5 - Motion - Discussion Thread

Best month so far for entries, great stuff

A lot better than last month :)

Re: SMB Photography Competition Round 5 - Motion - Discussion Thread

Although this months theme is an absolute corker and the entires so far have been top notch, it isn't half showing up my frigging shortcomings!!

I've had some canny ideas this month and have been out now about 5 times and I'm not happy that happy with any of my efforst so far.

I've popped some of them on to Flikr but will keep bashing away at the weekend in hope that I get something right

Yep, mine too. I've been persevering with droplet shots for days and have a couple I can potentially use but still nothing I'm 100% happy with.

A great way to spend a few hours though, I'll post an explanation of how I do it in a day or two, just in case someone else fancies trying it.
