I get what you're saying. But to be fair even if the kid has got 3 points (and Everton was far from guaranteed, I was going to take my lad to that one and demand far outstripped supply on the site, loads who logged straight on missed out, nevermind anyone who couldn't get on for an hour or so) there's no chance he'd get any more this season. If demand doesn't drop (which it will) next season, with cup games, maybe 5 points, maybe the same the next season. So, even doing everything he could be might be on 13/14 points after three full seasons. That wouldn't be phase 2 and then the points start dropping off. So his point is solid regardless of whether the bairn had 3 or 4 last season but it depends on demand not letting up, which is where I think the worrying about something that isn't going to be an issue
But you can't change a system just because there's half a season where people don't see how you can ever build points for yourself or the next generation. Demand will 100% ease and we'll be back to a place where you can get maybe 10 points a season if you're prepared to put the miles in, like it's always been. Loads of people about mid twenties down will never have done a lot of these grounds and will hardly remember the PL, so they'll do more than normal. Older fans will be more enthused to see us back in the PL, we've been competing well in it too, there's new grounds to go to. Then it'll settle. We'll either start struggling, and tickets will open up. We'll stay mid table and it'll get "dull" and tickets will open up. Or, hopefully, we'll kick on and get Europe and then there'll be more, very expensive, games so a lot will be forced to pick and choose, and tickets will open up. The 20 somethings doing every game now will get kids have to work weekends, life situations will move on like they always have. It'll be fine
