Away tickets - Loyalty points . . .

I think it closes the gulf slightly regarding points - and loyalty should be valued both home and away.

It’s not going to be a huge deal breaker, but it could be enough move people up a points bracket
Would you get 19 points for the purchase of the season card, or just points for, say, the 13 games you attend?

It would just move the phases up by 69 points or whatever (3 x 23 match seasons before this one). You’d be no closer than you are now, bar a few who didn’t have STs for all three seasons.

50% of allocated amount to STH with 70+ (65/60 could be set at whatever level) points. 50% plus anything leftover from above phase into a ballot system STH only with a deadline to enter the ballot.

Mate of mine is a Man Utd STH and this is along the same lines as what they do. Out of the ballot this season hes had City, Spurs and Arsenal. Usually get between 15k and 20k in the ballot per game.

And whoever makes the point 'wasn't like this in League 1' spare a thought for those that did the hard yards in L1 but lost a load of loyalty points in the 3 season cull at the beginning of this season. There'll be a few who did the undesirable aways in L1 who've got no chance of a PL away game under the current system.

Only one season gets culled every year. Even after losing those points I was mid-50s. The people who did all three seasons were all in Phase 1 at the start of this season.

Games you attend - point allocated when you scan your card

I think there’d be more impact on the points than it may look from the outset.

Just think home game attendance should also be taken into account as “loyalty”

Agreed that the current system is very good and fair.

I think the only amendment they could make (and I appreciate this would be a massive faff) would be to potentially have an application period, and then allocate tickets (or the option to buy tickets) on that basis. I.e. they go down the list and say if the 1,300th person applying for Bournemouth was on 63 points, that’s the level for selling out that game.

I feel a bit sorry for people who can’t access a computer at 1200 on days like today, where it was inevitable phase 2 was going to sell out instantly.

As I work from home or the office, the current system works in my favour, so no bitterness here!
I am the same mate. On 69 points for Bournemouth and first pahase was 70. This was the 4th game in the last 8 months or so where I was outside the frist phase by 1 or 2 pts. Those were Oxford away last season, Brentford this season, Oxford in the FA Cup and Bournemouth. I have managed to get a ticket in all 4 second phases and given that I 'only' did 13 aways and cup games in the 22/23 season that will drop off in the summer, I think I will move up into the first phase for every game going forward. That's a relief as today was stressful.

I can't do Villa away as away with the wife so that point will go, and I also cannot make the FA Cup QF weekend if we get there due to being on holiday, but other than that will have done every game this season, 22 last season and 20 the season before that.

There are 5 of us who go to the games together and have done for years.
My son who is now is the newest member of our group.
He stated following in league 1 days and until last season had no issues with getting tickets. Where i went wrong is we travelled with a branch and just let them get the tickets. This has resulted in my son only having 9 points and struggling to get tickets this season because the branch have had to change the way they purchase tickets.
3 in our group have over 60 points, 1 guy doesn't do away games and then there is my son.
To help people in my sons position is it not feasable to sell group tickets. Not sure how it would work but i'm thinking along lines of you have a fixed group of say 5 friends who you can point share. So if i don't want to go one of the group can get a ticket using my membership. I wouldn't receive a point but the member of my group who goes gets the point. Therefore giving people a chance to progress points.
Another thought is if sales start at 60 points a joint application can be done for say 3 or 4 members of your group as long as you have an average of 60.
For example if all 4 of us wanted away tickets and we have a combined points of 204 points (average 51) we would have to wait until 50 points and above.
If only 2 wanted to go and both had 65 then they can apply on phase 1.

For whats its worth, i've failed to get a ticket for Bournemouth which will be first away game i've missed this season but it is what it is.

Dreadful idea.

I hope anyone backing it would also be willing to risk any cup final tickets to a non season card holder ballot.
Yep and same for season tickets too. The 6000 who have had their STs the least amount of time have to go into a ballot with everyone on the waiting list

One thing I will say about everyone coming up with these complicated ways to make it 'fairer' to the people who now fancy PL away days - have you ever dealt with our ticket office?? Selling tickets at the correct date and time is a challenge - running ballots etc. Is way beyond them at the minute

It’s amazing on how there was no mention of a ballot for Plymouth, Swansea and Cardiff away last season.
