Jofra Archer

Wrapped in cotton wool for years and then expected to bowl long and repeated spells in Australian conditions, and wonder why they pick up injuries.
All our fast bowlers seem incredibly injury prone (think it just comes with the territory of that type of bowler)

Needs dropping.
Needs dropping.
Takes a wicket three balls later to make me look a right divvy. But he leaks too many runs for T20 and has been well out of form for over a year, getting on for age too.

Centrally contracted player and not ready to start the test summer

He is not the only one, but it doesn't sit right to me that he has gone to line his pockets in the IPL whilst sitting on a central contract and is not available to fulfil his obligations as part of that. I would think that there is some clause in the contract which deducts him salary for lack of availability for reasons outside of injury, but given he, Bethell, Carse and Ahmed have all effectively done the same thing, I would be taking a much harder stance and revoking central contracts for those who aren't available for the start of the international summer due to commitments elsewhere. It would cause a storm but our best players are still available (Root, Brook, Stokes) so I'd gladly take the risk.

We've seen in the past we can leave Jof to his own devices, work on his game and follow a plan that has been set. He turns up having that followed that plan to a tee".

Or in plain English "we let him do what he likes, when he likes"
He's taking the p!ss.
