I don't know many footballers more recent than thatAll ranging from 15-20 years ago!
Not as a shot stopper. He’s good tactically and ok with his feet, which is useful.Freaks me out that Steele was pretty highly regarded at Brighton
Injured too often, can't do 90 mins, pay as you play, etc.We could sign Messi and some posters would complain he’s too old from a shit league!
You missed the obvious...not tall enough.Injured too often, can't do 90 mins, pay as you play, etc.

Doesn't speak English >>> off to the reserves! And AFCON
Given Ipswich value Hackney at 20 million (!!) 8-10 may feel on the low side, but he’s still young and he’s English, 8-10 could be achieved.Who's offering 8-10m? Can't see it probs 2-3.
Just listened to this now and wonder if this tweet is in reaction from WMS telling him that’s the expectation hereHe’ll be first choice

Around Sunderland, the expectation is that Robin Roefs will come in as the first goalkeeper. Anthony Patterson was the first-choice last season but is now injured and will likely miss the start of the season. #safc #necnijmegen
and too short, obviously. Don't forget our need for 6'4 brutes all ower the pitch. We could sign Messi and some posters would complain he’s too old from a shit league!
sorry didn't spot this. Great minds etcYou missed the obvious...not tall enough.
It probably needed saying twice, as he is very short.and too short, obviously. Don't forget our need for 6'4 brutes all ower the pitch.

Yeah not announced yetNo scarf yet for Roefs?
Seen a picture of him in our keepers strip doing the rounds on Facebook.
This is exactly why I love this forum.Hello all, I've seen all of Roefs' senior team games as I have a season ticket at NEC. Made an account here as I wanted to see what y'all thought of him and will probably be following the club if he actually gets some time on the pitch.
So some context:
Roefs was always very highly rated in the academy at our club. Joined senior team training camps from age 16 for example. Last summer, we sold Jasper Cillessen (ex Barca, Valencia, Dutch national team and also from our youth academy) so that Roefs would get enough playtime.
Seen a lot of questions here on his passing and that his stats on this aren't great. This, in my opinion, is down mostly to our playstyle last year. We started out by playing from the back quite a bit, but then some of our best build up players got injured or lost form, so most of the season he was just told to hoof it long to strikers that generally weren't great at receiving those types of passes. I think with the right players around him at the back, he's above average on the ball. He's confident with both legs and generally has a decent to good pass. Also not shy
His main weakness last year was that we conceded 2 or 3 goals from direct free kicks where Roefs didn't look well-positioned. This was all in the first half of the season though and he seems to have learned from that.
Aside from that fact that he's obviously pretty good at saving shots, the thing that we always really liked in the stadium was how much he comes off his line to grab a cross. He does that way better than the far more experienced Cillessen.
I really look forward to seeing him in the PL, hopefully he becomes the first choice GK.
