How can a business offer that to 6/7000 staff ? Jesus thank Christ you’ve got a job man. Or alternatively go to the job centre and start again with very little skills. These Nissan staff are so entitled

It’s a joke. Just had a TL who’s been in job 18month only just got over 10y come in our area cocky as fuck smiling saying he’s off and he can’t wipe the smile off his face to lads with 35 y service as we had our pension. Don’t know how one of the them didn’t lamp him

Unless folks are really close to retiring is 50k that good a price for f***ing off?
Its not like working at Nissan is gonna open the doors of power in the outside world, so they take the 50k and then have years of earning a much smaller amount in the outside world

Ive heard there are 600 staff over 55 years old. So, all able to retire, most waiting for this sort of deal. However the vast majority are man staff.

Which makes it obvious what they are doing piss them off enough so they just retire and cost them nowt. Looks to be working too

But manufacturing both earn less than team leads and are needed to build whatever cars Nissan can sell, so even nissan aren't daft enough to dump the grunts if at all possible.
Its far easier to lose team leads and spread their duties out amongst remaining tls and lose the grunts through natural retirement or just leaving for othwr jobs but again, leave nissan before retiring its not like people will have loads of other job choices

Tbh as much h as people moan about nissan, they'd have a far tougher life not being in tenko if they are honest about their skills and the pay they get there. For a factory job I'd imagine its pretty good.

Bigger problem for nissan as a whole is actually selling cars going forward, the Chinese Market will collapse even more over time, the yank market has extra tariffs on now and have they even got any new models coming out? As in new models not just tarted up versions of current designs?

The question has been asked in skip meeting even though they all got the brief saying they can't offer it to production staff coz they need them, VP just said no end of basically they need production staff desperately and line 2 B shift have so many out it's ridiculous 😅

I was going to retire go at Xmas. Now it's March with £50k bump to my pension. Worked out well.
Not everyone that is going works at NMUK don't forget.
