A fair few have just started to refuse doing it at my place. I need the money at the minute but I can understand people feeling burnt out off it.
 
Am I missing something (probably am, like increased costs because of pension/employer NI contributions that make having more employees more expensive) but would it not be better to have a larger pool of staff doing compressed hours, ie. x4 10hr shifts, rotating so you occasionally went in on a Saturday?

I think people would be happier doing an extra two hours with another day off as a reward, rather than the increased rate. Both parties win if they're getting the same work at standard rate.

The top people at Nissan seem to think they're running a slave ship and the concept of a carrot rather than a stick seems utterly alien to them. They'll try and push through a reduced OT rate, which will antagonise; whereas they could eliminate OT massively, while keeping staff happy.

Keep the OT at 1.5 but create a schedule where it's rarely handed out.

Wouldn't lower yourself?? Who the fuck do u think you are?? When people have families to provide for and bills to pay. You do what you have to do and what's best for your family. I actually enjoy working here . Pay is good . And my family happy. Mate you need to take a step down from your high horse . And actually applaud 👏 people's willingness to work and provide for the families. And not claim benefits. The lads and lasses in nissan and suppliers are spot on !!!

I applaud anyone who works generally and doesn’t claim etc. You don’t have to work at Nissan and my point was towards what Nissan do and treat people and that I couldn’t do it and wouldn’t be willing to. There’s many options of employment out there. Who do I think I am ? I’ll tell you what I’m not. Someone who will come on here and abuse people and tell them that I’ve done things to there mothers like you do. Prick. Does that ring any bells with you ?
 
Everyone knows nissan are hemorrhaging money and are losing market share massively in China and America.
Just gonna be a while till they get the wheels back on the wagon worldwide. $4.5bn loss last year wasn't it?
Might be like a POW camp at times but for factory work, its decent pay and steady work id assume, so hopefully it has a long future left in the uk

Its also worth bearing in mind all the companies that survive because nissan are in Sunderland, be even more catastrophic than the pits if it closed

Didn't they turn their backs on a merger with Honda because they wanted to be top dog. Which was never going to happen.

There is no treatment man just moaning fuckers who don’t like work and are pissy pants because can’t get their own way all the time, if you just turn up do your job and go home moneys in your bank it’s never been this easy and lenient with regards to how you get treat, I worked no overtime at all last year and took 40k what’s not to like
