Even spending £100m on four £25m players, all on 4 year contracts, would be £25m per year regarding finances wouldn't it given it's amortisation that's used?

So it would only be £75m in total that would count over the 3 years rolling period at 25m a year. That's why Chelsea spent millions dishing out 8 year contracts as it means less spending and chances are they'd sell players before even having 'fully paid' for them

Spend £200m on 4 players on 4 year contracts then it's just £50m off each year's books for the next 4 years.

Aye yet people think we can just spend it now and aren't aware of how football finances work. This is what knacked the mags from buying players every transfer window. They spent on numerous players so the total yearly amortisation value pushed their total spending to their limit. Once those drop off the 3 year rolling then they can spend again, along with the extra revenue their getting.

The NE has the lowest average household income last time I looked.

One of the last times we were in the PL alongside Fulham our incomes were very similar and their ground was basically bike shelters with 20,000+ seats attached.

Only need to spend a little time on here to see the outrage caused by mentions of the going rate for owt. My marra supports a club relegated from the Conf South last season and it was £17 for general admission (standing) last season…..and there’s gonna be a small rise next season anarl!

It's why Chelsea started offering 8 year contracts to spread the cost out and get around the rules. It's limited to 5 years now I think for PSR.
 
This is where some savy scouting comes into play. We'll not spend anything close to 100m so being clever with the loan system is probably going to be a top priority this season. I expect to see the club trying their hand at more deals like the Enzo one in which, if we stay up, an agreed fee will be paid after the loan to mitigate any big risks this season, and help keep spending reasonable.

Correct and that is why there are so many London clubs in the Premier especially with so many mercenaries playing at the top level.

They could just extend the back bunch of rows around the east and continue the boxes to get more corporate.

I don't think it's fair that clubs get extra money every time they appear in a live game. It's open to much skullduggery in my opinion.
Perfect example being the mags. When Sky first started you had Vic Wakelin in charge of choosing all the televised games. Big Newcastle fan chooses his favourite club for tv, bringing in a load of money for his club.
To be fair, they were challenging for the league in the period of the 'entertainers '. Contrast that with the 2018/19 season when they finished lower mid table and stunk the place out with turgid football under Rafa Benitez. That season they were selected for live tv on 19 occasions, joint with Man City and on more often than Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham who finished in the champions league spots. At the time I think it was about 1 million quid a game for tv. Grossly unfair

I'm hoping I've not heard of any (or most) of our signings as that will mean we've probably been smart bringing in lads with top flight experience in France or elsewhere in Europe, probably on much lower wages than PL lads and hopefully maybe better quality than the type of low end PL player we might attract.

Agree though re some of our players, if we were to get big bids for Jobe and Rigg and decent money for Neil. Id trust our recruitment to do well with that kind of money. Be a shame to see any of them moving on obviously.
