The first stage of the forum upgrades has now been completed but they remain in a degraded state and are still being worked on. Normal posting/reading should now be possible.

I don't think theyll go mental and spend 30m on some 28 year old proven player mind but i do think we will spend 100m+ this summer. Many will be younger lads with potential in the squad but i do think we will sign a few players in the 15-20m range.
The NE has the lowest average household income last time I looked.
One of the last times we were in the PL alongside Fulham our incomes were very similar and their ground was basically bike shelters with 20,000+ seats attached.
Only need to spend a little time on here to see the outrage caused by mentions of the going rate for owt. My marra supports a club relegated from the Conf South last season and it was £17 for general admission (standing) last season…..and there’s gonna be a small rise next season anarl!
£640 per fan on average so if we got say 42,000 average it would be nearly £27m revenue. £640 may well be within some peoples finances but that's every ticket so no concessions so taking the bairn is £1,280.
As I said earlier this is why our average ST price is roughly £271 in 2023 as a lot of them will be concessions given the availability in all 4 stands. Also remember the club weren't happy about the use of concessions as adults were buying them as they were cheap and not even attending but then upgrading.
Need to stay up and expand the ground, mainly to create more boxes and corporate areas but more seats be good to. Try and max out the concerts thing also under an enlarged stadium.
I do hope we still allow concession to ensure future generations to grow up supporting the club rather than pandering to those who are able to pay more and go just because it's the Premier League and will be sitting there pissing about on their phones for social media likes and shit and killing a small part of the atmosphere.
If demand exceeds supply then aye expand after a few seasons and allow anyone who want to go to the game to go. There will be many of the next generation of mag fans that won't get to grow up supporting the team like many generations before and I hope we don't go down that same route due to the greed in the game and just decide to milk fans to the limit instead.

Yep it's happening big style up the road. They only sell about 33k season tickets, then members ballot and corporate the fuck out of everything else. They're deluded if they think that will change in a new stadium. As you suggest we need to maintain a balance of high end price and family affordability
It will get better in prem However giving free tickets to kids and having some scummy adults having used kids tickets has hurt our revenues….. now we are getting on top of that we should see a sizeable jump
Cheaper tickets overall and having concessions around 90 odd percent of the ground probably being the main factor. I've posted a few times about this as we will have more U22s going to games than most clubs due to the generous pricing structure and large capacity. The positive of this is that the club get kids hooked at a young age so they will go even when times are shite. Some clubs won't have this as they're concession areas are limited to 1 stand or even area so less families will be able to afford to pay full price elsewhere or there isn't enough tickets.
Last time in the PL we were the cheapest average per fan ticket cost based on rough figures. This is one of a few posts that explains why the likes of Leeds can get £30m in gate receipts from less fans. Other clubs generate far more revenue but that's because they're limited in capacity so they just increase prices and let the more affluent fans get the tickets such as Southampton, Brighton, Fulham and even Brentford as you can see in the table in this link below.
Looks good tbf, looks little bit lop sided but not to the ridiculous levels of the st james

We've just dropped the U16 band to U14 and the East & West stands are now considerably higher in those bands. I pointed this out in March when the prices were released and it's a sign of what's to come if we do stay in the Premier League.
thought they might have frozen the kids prices. mine and 2 kids have gone up from £530 to £620 in total , canny old % increase I don’t understand why they have u14 then u18, it should be u16 tickets as that’s school kids then maybe a slight discount for 16-18 fir college kids Yeah I think...

The mags are already feeling the pinch as tickets have went up, concession areas are small but demand still exceeds supply so they created the membership. This has an effect on their atmosphere as you see many fans complaining about it as it's different people in seats every week. They will also restrict the amount of season tickets for sale (1,000s have just ended that 10 year deal) and do the ticket lottery instead for 1,000s of seats given it generates more revenue. Leeds already do this as it's been said on here by Leeds fans.
That's the greed in football and I do hope we don't go down that road and just milk the fans for all they can. Football isn't all about winning the Premier League as for some it's a social gathering with family and friends that has been passed down through generations. For those who want to be at the top you may well pay the price of not being able to afford to go as some other richer glory seeker will sit in your seat instead and that's what most clubs are bothered about these days.
My eldest was affected by the U16 change. Her ST doubled. Its a sad fact of life that legacy fans as the media calls us are rapidly becoming something of a nuisance to clubs who are only interested in revenue streams.
I've a ManU supporting mate and they're going out if their way to piss off people who've held season tickets for years, often generations, in favour of tourists who come for the day trip. They're currently trying to move ST holders from the Stretford End to create a 'Disneyland' area, "the real match day experience", for the tourists apparently.
They're not the only ones doing it either as you point out but I dread the thought of OUR club taking a similar route IF we can manage to cement a PL position going forward.

Aye. I’ve only been reet at the back once but that’s obviously been part of the design from the off. The little steel area seats were the add ons after the SOL opened iirc.

You'd lose like the seats on the scaffolding and from looking at the west stand also another 4ith in front as that's where the balcony goes to on the photo I'm looking at.

I don't think it's fair that clubs get extra money every time they appear in a live game. It's open to much skullduggery in my opinion.
Perfect example being the mags. When Sky first started you had Vic Wakelin in charge of choosing all the televised games. Big Newcastle fan chooses his favourite club for tv, bringing in a load of money for his club.
To be fair, they were challenging for the league in the period of the 'entertainers '. Contrast that with the 2018/19 season when they finished lower mid table and stunk the place out with turgid football under Rafa Benitez. That season they were selected for live tv on 19 occasions, joint with Man City and on more often than Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham who finished in the champions league spots. At the time I think it was about 1 million quid a game for tv. Grossly unfair

I think it'll be close to £100m unless they accept that we'll likely go down and rebuild on the foundations we have. £50m unless we luck out and sign some serious gems will not be enough I'm afraid, no where near.
I find it mental how Chelsea have made so much profit. Fair play if this is correct.

We have just been promoted with the 15th highest wage bill. Money doesn't guarantee success.
Obviously I want (and expect) to see the squad made stronger and premier league ready. But there is no chance we are going to pump money into big names and end up in the same mess as before.
I think we'll keep the model but apply it to the next level of player : basically out of sorts players from top clubs who Speakman calculates are underrated and therefore undervalued .
The opportunity to play in the EPL and turn theor career around will be a big draw
Everyone will have a relegation clause so if the worst happens no harm done.
Seen many on here often lament "why are we spending more" and the club has a clear strategy here is where it pays of. PSR rules say a club cannot lose more than £105 million over 3 seasons. Leeds (who are already about selling to buy) have lost over £90mill the last 2 seasons. Burnley around...
