Chris Mepham

Beginning of the season we were pressing and attacking . Now we sit back and allow pressure. This is the problem . Not the defenders.

Need Ballard on the pitch v Coventry. They bullied us down there and won the aerial battles. Ballard takes no shit and is also a threat from set pieces which we sorely lack. He’s the only one who actually looks like he’s going to get on the end of a ball into the box.
I would agree totally, Mepham worries me and certainly has had a dip in form

I honestly thought he took Mepham off to protect him for the first leg( looks like I was wrong ) . It's got to be Mepham and Ballard at cbs.
Ballard needed minutes, someone had to come off.
That big bald prick was trying to get him sent off yesterday in a nothing game.
So was Colback, the sneaky bastard allowing him to give him a wedgie.
He’s always been a 100% player. Lacks a bit of pace and tends to grab and grapple. I guess we’ll have a premier league ref and Coventry will make a meal of it.
As a team we need to be savvy about that, the best teams in any division are not just the ones who play the best football, it’s a package. Fitness, strength, speed of thought & being streetwise is all part of it, the more of that you get right the better your chances.

They were saying on the TV that the goal scorer was Jobes man but he let him get away from him.
Our midfield don’t:
1) Bust a gut trying to get in the box when the ball is wide.
2) Don’t mark their opposite number when out of possession.

Basic stuff.
