We are still 2 weeks away from the start of the season mate. I expect a CB of proven prem quality to be here by the end of the week. The morrocan lad Aguerd is heavily linked, who is an upgrade to anyone we have imo. Mepham is decent, and a free transfer would be good- but he isnt worth the 10 mill Bournemouth want for him.

“Proven prem quality” isn’t going to happen.

We will get a top-level player, experienced in a foreign league. But we certainly aren’t going to get a proven Premier League player.

Top lad but showed a distinct lack of pace when required at times last year. Every league game we play will be about pace. Just not up to it.

Played out of position with unfamiliar teammates and looked totally comfortable. Great first touch and never looked rushed. We don't need to worry about Reinildo

Yeah I agree. That’s what my post says(or is trying to) he’s a squad player at this level and if cheap enough I’d have him. Hes levels above Seelt.
I think Alese will be the first choice centre half when fit. But we cannot rely on him at all to stay fit.

All of the above is pie in the sky though, the squad will change again in the next fortnight

We have no idea how Alese would cope in the Prem. He has hardly put in a significant run of appearances at CB even in the Champo.

Oh man I thought we’d see the end of the “x player was shite after Christmas”
Minging crack, but he’s my last response to it.

It is absolute bullshit, there is no chance we go up without Mepham and you should speak about him with more respect.

Whether it was Sheff Utd at home, or the cup final against Sheff Utd, the lad was imperitive to us getting promotion, and should be praised for that.

Taking the last 5 games away which Regis clearly did, NO player in our squad had a big post Christmas drop off, not Rigg, not Mepham, not Jobe, just shite spotted on here.

That being said, no we shouldn’t sign him for prem, as I agree with the club prioritising athletic quick defenders which is needed for the Pl.
