Coffee shops in Sunderland

Apologies for hijacking the thread but I thought I would ask the aficionados. Possibly still a long shot but here goes....

Basically my wife has a small cafe and we are having difficulties with our coffee supplier. There is nothing wrong with the coffee, it's consistently good and fresh.

However, lately they have switched the method of delivery. Went from a driver to the area to a mainstream delivery company, who will not deliver during our opening times and there is therefore nobody to collect it. After 3 attempts it goes back to the depot.

We have resorted to speciality beans during the meantime but 1, that is not what out customers should be getting and by the time we get the delivery, if we ever get it the sock gets old because we have plugged the gap ourselves.

So the question is, is there a consistently good brand of commercial coffee beans that people on here ultimately agree on?

Its a shame because there is nothing wrong with the coffee and people like it but the delivery issue has been going on for 2/3 months now.

Sounds like a right grind marra and I can see that your frustration has been brewing. Good to let off steam.

Sounds like a latte hassle tbf.

Anyone off here been in this place yet?

Tucked down a cobbled alleyway, a coffee shop has breathed new life into an historic East End gem.
Following on from The Chair business which Sarah Hume opened in The Eagle Building three years ago, the city businesswoman has extended the brand to create a coffee snug.

It obviously depends on cost as well, but I've always found Caffe Vinci canny, think they're based in Middlesbrough, but deliver to Sunderland as I've seen a few places sell it. Ultimately you need to do some taste testing, you could even get in a few loyal customers outside of business hours and they can mark a few options out of ten and give their honest take on it. You can only test it during the day I guess if you have two grinders or pre-grind a batch, otherwise it would be a mess on playing around with the grinder if using different coffees.

I've always thought Tynemouth coffee is canny.

What's the name mate?

I've been going to Mogi on Chester Road a lot lately, it's class in there. Great food options, awesome sweet treats and the coffee is very good. Not to mention, the owners and staff are awesome.

The Chair. Not been in unfortunately as it’s closed when I am down that way at my dads.

If I was you, I’d go with the Volvo V90. If you and Sharon are swinging and especially dogging, if you split the rear seats, there is plenty of room for a mattress. Also the seats are leather, so they’ll be wipe clean and the back windows are privacy/tinted windows. Also the air con is the best on the market. That all adds up at a reasonable price too.

Let me know how you get on, also when are you and Sharon free, Sunday after next? We’ll have a Sunday roast then head up to the spare room.

Went in the one next to sweet petite today. Ordered two lattes, sat outside. 15 minutes later no lattes. Told them not to bother, left and went to the fire station instead. Lovely
