Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

He’s not even got twenty senior games under his belt.

If we get decent money I wouldn’t lose any sleep

Sunderland forced him to go.
'Forced'
Why ? And then why did we pull out of the deal, If we were forcing him down there ?
Assume we had accepted an offer to force him to go
They wanted shot of him but he wouldn't accept personal terms. The underlying factor is the club wanted rid of him

Looks a great talent but as it stands he's not a guaranteed first team. Providing we get good money for him, it's to be expected.

It's frustrating that a club like Brighton have managed to leap frog us in such a fashion that they're taking our talented youth players whilst challenging near the top of the PL, whilst we struggle against teams like Plymouth, Preston and Coventry.

Why?

Why?
They thought 10m + is a good price, guessing they not totally convinced by him

Tin hat on, I dread promotion with what will be left of this squad, ownership, management and any knock-off old Premiership players we reluctantly shell out for. We'll be routinely pulverised and might even beat Derby's low points total. Rather the enjoyment of the Championship for me, with the possibility of a win before every match, than to be the Premiership whipping boys.
There, I've said it.

We have to be realistic - any promotion is likely to end in relegation with parachute payments to go again

Seems really bizarre that mate.
Not saying you're wrong like, but it's not the way we've been doing business , getting rid of young players with potential.
And forcing them out. I think that would unsettled a lot of the other young kids.
