Mayenda discussion thread

He's just not very good m8 . That run through on goal yesterday was awful he may as well of just passed it to the keeper to save his energy . Didn't even get a shot away being clean through was the most frightening thing about it . This is our back up striker if Wilson gets injured
He never hides but he's not good enough for us and we need better in Jan if possible

I thought he was poor yesterday especially first half. His first touch is extremely bad for a professional footballer. He would be nowhere near the starting 11 for me
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

He can easily play deeper in the 10 role behind Wilson. Dangerous as fuck when he drops and turns then runs at the defence

He’s brilliant there. Collects it a little deeper on the half turn, then he can go himself or look for Wilson making his run.

If we can start playing them together I genuinely think that could be the difference in promotion (in the playoffs like). They terrify teams with their pace and movement.

That little dribble and then outside of the foot pass to Isidor towards the end was incredible. Strength, pace, dribbling, passing, precision, flair. All top.

I think he’s better than Isidor. His all round game is better just Isidor is better at finishing. If I was the manager of Sunderland I would start with Mayenda

He’s not better than Isidor like
I think he is. Played half the amount of minutes than Isidor and has about the same amount of game involvements plus he’s missed about 5 really good chances. Gets involved much more in the game. Better first touch , works harder, links play up miles better.

Missing 5 really good chances doesn’t really prove the point well mind Michael :lol:

Well it does. I’m happy for strikers to miss chances. It’s when they don’t get chances throughout the game is the worry. Mayenda weather he plays good or bad will always get at least 1 or 2 really good chances because of how he plays. Isidor before Stoke away was bang average I thought. Scored a few wonder goals but all round game was really poor

I mean, I get the point about missing chances. But it’s still not a great thing

He seems to get stronger as the game goes on as well and defenders start to tire. Was beating the defenders with ease in the last 15/20 mins.

He makes things happen. Unnerves defenders and they panic. If he could improve his ball control he'd be a top player. Hasn't got the skill of Isidor, but he's just as effective. He's still a young un and could still turn out to be as good if not better than the others.
