Mayenda discussion thread

When people go mad at the Poveda, Ba, Bennette signings. Just remember this lad. €1m and he’s going to be worth many many multiples of that
This is exactly right. We purchase on what we see as potential. We pay low amounts of say around 1 or 2 million and hope all of them make it but in reality 1 or 2 will. We then sell that player for ten million of above, at least that's the plan, so we've made a profit.

When the time comes in the near future we're actually going to make comparatively massive money, compared to what we paid, for Bellingham and Rigg and potentially Neil, Cirkin, Hume, Patterson, Mundle, Watson, Mayenda and Isidor down the line.

He's just not very good m8 . That run through on goal yesterday was awful he may as well of just passed it to the keeper to save his energy . Didn't even get a shot away being clean through was the most frightening thing about it . This is our back up striker if Wilson gets injured

Our centre forwards aren’t good enough. They don’t score enough goals and have little else going for him.

Isidor is a right softie and one of the worse I’ve seen with his back to goal. His general play gets worse every week.

Mayenda will never be a striker. Has zero instincts for it. The game happens too fast for him.

Both doing pretty well.
He’ll get nowhere near six goals this season.

I’ll wager right now he’ll finish on two, three at a push.

How much money are you losing?

Ah the old bump from months ago. He’s doing brilliantly. Im very happy he’s proving me wrong, he was my MOTM yesterday.

pretty sure said Hume was a weak link for a long period of time. I’m assuming that you’ve changed your opinion since then?

Mayenda is an average championship player. One sided and predictable. Quick yes, fit yes. He’s an asset for us but he’s not a PL player he wouldn’t get in the Southampton side and they could break the low points PL total.

The kids 19 and playing his first full season in England.

You’re taking as if he is the finished article and a seasoned pro! He’s all the attributes to be a top centre forward (pace and power)

He’s improving his decision making, finishing and hold play. He’s been a breath of fresh air this season!

I’d hate to be a centre half or a full back with him or Mundle running at you all game!!

Not many strikers are premiership players at age 19.

Mayenda is a class act, raw, quick strong and full of running. He's only going to get better especially as his confidence is up and he's scoring goals.

Exactly this, if his finishing improves with experience he's going to be absolutely lethal in the championship.

Hume's been very good lately. I also thought O'Nien might struggle in the Championship at centre back but he's been a revelation.

I saw an article recently saying that our squad is worth way in excess of £100m and 2nd in the division, only behind Leeds. All those player you've mentioned, they cost us about £12m in total. For every star player that emerges, we release 1 dud. I think that's a fantastic return on investment.

Mayenda is getting better every game he plays, and play every game he absolutely must. His match fitness is possibly the best in the team and confidence will be sky high after scoring 3 in 2.

The thing that makes this forum great is people putting their neck out and making bold predictions or putting out an opinion. It gets the debate started.

I’ve got plenty correct in the past and it’s fairly weird behaviour to be bringing up old posts from months ago.

I’d much rather people go all out with their opinions than to be a bland, mundane poster. The type who marks people out of 10 weekly like they are a child.

A grown bloke, posting on his rivals forum on a Saturday night

I find it hard to believe you've got much right to be honest. You seem to add to a litany of twaddle week by week.

The only really odd one is Rusyn. We spent a decent chunk on him, never really gave him a good run (although he didn't particularly earn it, either) and he wasn't a kid either. He was a 24 year old, who wasn't really a 'lone striker' player. An odd use of our budget. Dajaku was another strange signing, given that he didn't exactly nail down a place in L1 we then spent 750k making it permanent and then inevitably didn't play him.

Was there not an obligation to buy Dajaku clause after promotion?
