Mayenda discussion thread

Wonder where Mayenda haters are now? some of stuff on here a while back - was an embarrassment. he's only 19 and just getting better and better

The thing that makes this forum great is people putting their neck out and making bold predictions or putting out an opinion. It gets the debate started.

I’ve got plenty correct in the past and it’s fairly weird behaviour to be bringing up old posts from months ago.

I’d much rather people go all out with their opinions than to be a bland, mundane poster. The type who marks people out of 10 weekly like they are a child.

It's not weird at all. What's the point in making predictions or stating our opinion if we can't go back and look at how they panned out? It'd be weird not to look back.

I can see you're a bit rattled though so each to their own.

Often when I have a disagreement with someone they refer back to my match reports.

It's quite cute.

Oh bore off and stop trying to dig people out.

I would guess they are probably still on here but got their mouths shut.

In fact I may be one i of them, i can't remember, as I do remember him being pretty crap to begin with though, hence why he was shipped out on loan.

However now he has improved and is doing fantastic.

No need to dig people out who may have previously had a go at him, as he did actually look a bit naff to begin with.

Fingers crossed he gets even better.

Mayenda is an average championship player. One sided and predictable. Quick yes, fit yes. He’s an asset for us but he’s not a PL player he wouldn’t get in the Southampton side and they could break the low points PL total.
He’s 19 name a striker with more potential that age
Another shite signing from abroad.

We could have had Jerry Yates. :(
Just go out and sign Chris Martin was the one like

Getting better and better but still lacking the one thing a striker needs and that is composure in front of goal - His finishing is erratic at best and has let him down on numerous occasions but hopefully he’s putting the graft in after training with some extra finishing sessions

Precisely. The further up the leagues you go, the lass chances you get to score. He’ll have to become a more consistent finisher if he wants to step up.

Even as is though, he's such an impactful outlet for us. He's very strong - especially once he gets motoring with the ball - and he's fast and can go past people. He's also got a bit more vision than he gets credit for, he's often one of our best players at sliding Isidor through.

He's a massive threat when running with the ball like, he just shrugs defenders off and people end up backing off him.

Aye, I prefer him playing slightly deeper tbh. As you say when he picks the ball up and runs at people they just shit themselves.

I actually agree, he's often more dangerous for us playing high up on the right of a front 3, where he's got room in front of him and defenders to drag about.

Aye, his touch and finish at the moment still needs work. Completely different level but think of people like Defoe or Aguero. If it came to them in the box they normally scored.

When he gets it 30-40 yards from goal, defenders don’t know what to do and he runs and causes chaos. It’s great to watch.
