Jack Clarke

Find it mental that some (a minority) are so bitter. To suggest Mundle and Watson are better is just silly. He was outstanding for us, could have pushed through a move in 2023 but didn't then left to pursue a Prem move at a time when his future needed to be resolved one way or another. He'd have been mad to turn it down.
Watson has more potential than Clarke and that’s not off watching a couple of games in the Championship.

That is true -I wonder what he genuinely thinks about the situation ( I know he’s not an safc lad like us …but after Spurs issues he found his feet with us )
Loved by the fan base -“ the main man “ and would undoubtedly be integral to this promotion push
All about choices ( and yes financially much better off) but I wonder if he has regrets …with him in the current set up I think we would make top 2 ?
Great player-well for safc at least

He could have went to Burnley the season before, but didn't, and we then finished 16th. There was a lot of shit after that with the search for a coach. Many fans had started to think we'd be happy to just finish in the top half after what had went on last season, so I imagine he thought he'd take the opportunity to join Ipswich as he thought we wouldn't be in the running for promotion.

There may have been people internally pushing him out of the door too, as it didn't look like he was wanting to rush a new contract, so his value would have dropped dramatically if we hadn't sold him with going into his last year of his contract.

I don't think Ipswich have even tried to get the best out of him tbh, and I'm sure the lad thought he'd have got more games than he's had. It's not been great for him, but I can see why he moved. I just don't see the point in our fans trying to downgrade how good he was for us just because he left.

Idiot troll, no Sunderland fan would ever say he can’t hit the byline and cross with his left, as if he couldn’t we would never had beat Sheff We’d away in the play offs.
Pathetic, nobody who has ever watched him could possibly say he hits the byline and crosses with his left foot. Thats just gross stupidity.

I don’t think they are.
He’s a very good Championship player. That’s it, no more no less.

Why would Ipswich loan Clarke out? He's getting some appearances off the bench for them, he's probably only 1 good appearance from starting such is their desperation.

It does Ipswich no benefit to loan a player they might need, back to the club who they paid £15m-£18m to just 5 months ago.
They've signed philogene might not even get in bench

You need to take the rose coloured specs off.

When he came back from injury for us in his last season, he was terrible.

Not sure mate to be honest thought he was a left winger🤷‍♂️

Played 67 games on the left wing, scoring 31 and assisting 8.
Played 31 games on the right wing, scoring 2, and assisting 4.

He's definitely better off the left.

Struggle to see Clarke getting many games there now. Can't see him coming back here either so no doubt they'll move him on in the summer, or sell their better players when they get relegated and have Clarke take them back up.

Are we judging him on 6 games at the end of the season, coming back from injury, in a poor side in freefall that had given up? Or the other 80-odd games where he was consistently excellent?

Because by the same logic, Mundle had a run of games during the period Clarke was out and was diabolical.

Love JC but that godforsaken cup game against the Saudis was a big reality check for me. Painful seeing him in pubeheads back pocket for 90 minutes. Realised then that being an exceptional championship player may be his level.

Have to be fair to him. He never pushed for a move and it was time for him to move on, for him and the club. I think it's a bit of a shame Lazio (was it them or another Italian team) never came back in for him, or a team a bit more suited to him.
Personally I still think he will get a run in the team at some point and do really well.
If not I hope another PL team come in for him if Ipswich go down (personally I think Everton have just handed them a life line).

I don't think coming back here would be a good move for us or him tbh.
