Jack Clarke

Due to the injuries to Mundle and Tommy and doubts of when they will be back, if there was a chance to loan Clarke it would be a complete no brainer to do it. Once Mundle was fit he’d replace Roberts on the right and our team would be looking dangerous indeed.

Why would Ipswich loan Clarke out? He's getting some appearances off the bench for them, he's probably only 1 good appearance from starting such is their desperation.

It does Ipswich no benefit to loan a player they might need, back to the club who they paid £15m-£18m to just 5 months ago.

Ipswich look like they are signing Philogene from Villa for over 20m today, possibly pushes Clarke furthur away from the starting lineup

I’m really starting to believe Ipswich signed Clarke because they could or for the sake of it rather than having a genuine plan on how to use him.

Clarke is a salutary lesson for any of our players when moving to another club. This season he’s gone from being at his best at SAFC to bumming about the bench in a team that frankly are dross. I suspect that he regrets the move in career terms, though the money will be a counter to that. We replaced him not once but twice with Mundle and Watson. Both l feel will have better careers than Clarke.

And he did the job

An academy product with a lot of skill and promise

Crazy that he’s playing for Carlisle currently bottom of League 2
He can’t help but think that his body doesn’t match his talent sadly. Seemed to get a run of injuries and never looked quick or strong. Happens

It's utterly remote
The only way it might work its a one month loan .. to get him game time and buy us some games thru fitness

Can't see either party wanting to do that

If he’s available and we can get him bring back in for 6 months we in a race what nobody thought us would be in we are 18 games from been back in the big time anything that gives us a better chance got to be done

All loans have to run until the next transfer window as a minimum.

Makes sense for us see what the situation is towards the end of the window imo. If we still have injuries and Clarke is available, then absolutely do it. It was only a week or two ago that people wanted us to sign Louis Barry in that position.

.....and if we do go up and Ipswich go down he can stay with us in the Premier League 🥳

* on the bench, like Ipswich 🤣

Never go back, it rarely works. And I loved Clarke, I was gutted when he left. But we've hardly missed him. Mundle is back soon and Watson cannot be too far away.
Having said that, if he's available....... 👀
