Jack Clarke

I can't be the only one who thinks it would be a backward step. It would knock the confidence of both Mundle and Watson as he will only come back as a guaranteed starter.

It will also be suggesting that the team can't progress without him which our current league position shows isn't the case.

I hope that there is no truth in these rumours as I can't see one positive in him returning.
Maybe there's a feeling that neither Mundle nor Watson will overcome their respective injuries and regain match fitness in time for a true promotion push and Clarke is a turnkey option.

We need to score more, Clarke scored 16 goals last season. Simple. If the deal is right financially it should happen. Mundle and Watson can both play on the other side, so we can shift people about to make room and we need depth anyway with our injury record.

Put it this way, if Clarke hadn't moved, he'd still be first choice under Regis, and It's as simple as that really.
And we would be nowhere as a good a team as we are today, with Jack in the team we only had one tactic, give him the ball teams had us sussed second half of the season.

I'm firmly on the fence with this one. If he did come back, no doubt he would be class for us. However, both Mundle and Watsons development since he left has Benn fantastic, to such an extent that we never missed him.

I know we're short over that side now but what happens when Mundle and Watson are fit?

"Interesting" as RLB would put it.

Some unreal re-writing of history really. Clarke even scored away at Cardiff and got an assist against Wednesday  why are people pretending he was shite?!

He was absolutely class.
And we would be nowhere as a good a team as we are today, with Jack in the team we only had one tactic, give him the ball teams had us sussed second half of the season.

I think that's unfair mate, Clarke was a class act for us, he'd be just as good in the current setup.

How much money have Ipswich spent? 15-18m on Clarke, just to spend the same again to replace him less than six months later.

It took him a while to settle in here, and start to show his true worth. In hindsight he’d have been better off waiting for a team less likely to go down, as it would mean he’d have more than just one season to make an impact.

As it stands he’s had two PL moves and neither have worked out. He’s good enough imo, but both moves were the wrong club and wrong time. I think he was a really good fit for us, and if he’d stayed would be looking at the possibility of going up with us and being our main man.
There wasn’t anyone else interested so he couldn’t go to a team less likely to go down.
