New Music Releases Thread

Bet that was superb. Think I've only been there once which was for Majical Cloudz. That was also outstanding. Can remember being stood at the back next to Yannis from Foals. Turns out he's a proper short arse.
Yeah. Was quite humbling.

Think I’ve seen Anna Von Hausswolf there too. Maybe she was supporting?

J Spaceman & John Coxon (Spiritualized) performed a live score in 2015 for the William Eggleston's Stranded In Canton film at the Barbican in London. It's just been released as an album. No songs, just music over the film dialogue but I enjoyed it.
Mt. Misery (from Hartlepool) released a new album called Love In Mind yesterday. Fans of Teenage Fanclub / jangly guitar pop will probably enjoy it.

Good to see Roger present
Sounds like the 'album launch show' at the Troxy was absolutely mind-blowing, just 31 tracks in the set list. Possibly up on YouTube, not had time to look yet. There is a 66 page thread on Steve Hoffman, consensus being the live version was stunning v the vinyl and other formats.

The are new albums tomorrow from Jamey Johnson, Primal Scream, State Champs, The Body, Lazy Day, Mulatu Astatke & Hoodna Orchestra and Robyn Hitchcock.
The Quietus have slated the Primal Scream album (link below). Will still give it a go. Know compilations don't usually get covered here, but The Orb and Orbital each have one released tomorrow.

They're a band whose output fluctuates massively TBH. Might give the two comps a listen as I like both. What did you think of the new(ish) Underworld album?

The Primal Scream album is a magnificent folly, like plums in aspic or Walter Sickert in the age of graphic design.

Uncut 2024 list is out, The Cure in at only 69, I’d have it in a top 20. And my favourite album didn’t make their list at all, they’re clueless
I’m a bit surprised Merce Lemon didn’t get more traction in the press mind, it’s a great album. My top 10…
  1. Merce Lemon - watch me drive them dogs wild
  2. Magdelena bay - Imaginal disk
  3. MJ Lenderman - manning fireworks
  4. Waxahatchee - Tigers blood
  5. Bill Ryder Jones - lechyd Da
  6. Rosali - bite down
  7. David Nance and Mowed sound
  8. Villagerrr - Tear your heart out
  9. The Hard Quartet
  10. Hayley Henderickx - Seed of a seed

Great list, mine will be really similar I reckon. Nice to see that Villagerrr record on there. It's really good.
