The Fishing Thread

Has he still got the Volante? Years since I seen Davy, went out on the boat with him a few times.
Aye still the Volante mate. Think it's a Hardy. He used to do well off the wrecks. Could shift that boat mind.

Sadly the wrecks aren't what they used to be. Too many at it now unfortunately.

Two days on the River Wye.
An absolutely stunning River and not easy to fish with plenty of snags and locating the fish the challenge.
The wildlife spectacular and the first day never been so close to a chinook helicopter no doubt the SAS were on a training exercise.

Day one - 9 Chub all around the 4lb all falling to luncheon meat.
Day two - 2 Club and at last a late afternoon Barbel of 7lb all on pellet. Lost one which was disappointing.

Just gives you that much needed lift. Will definitely look to go again.

@Jon Dough and @Big Jeff
Drive up the valley fairly regularly (did it monday) .... always lovely... Scaffolding on Tintern looks rubbish mind

Fished the 2 day MOGSAF Bass festival over the weekend. Easterlies chopped Luce bay up so the bait rods had a fair few few, managed a couple of schoolies yesterday but nothing on the lures.

The quality of fish caught and released was unbelievable, 2 fish over 11lb caught.

It's a fantastic event thats just going from strength to strength, 80 anglers competed this year.

Is that Adam Johnstone from over here?

Good fisherman him if so

Big seas forecast the weekend. First ones of the autumn. Tides are shite but I’ll be out to blow the cobwebs off 😎

18lb Pike earlier.
Definitely some bigger ones in there.
Fishing is good for the heart and soul 🎣
Lush that mate. I’ve never fished for Pike as of yet but bairn wants to go so maybe one day.
I’m fishing tomorrow with a load of new gear. New rod, new reel the lot.

The fish have nothing to worry about though.
Where ya off to Jeff? What you fishing for? I might get the sea fishing gear out soon. Not been for last two year.
