as evidenced by rain delays all around the country but not at EdgbastonI've said this for many years but the weather very, very rarely saves Durham.
Fair play to her. I don’t imagine co-commentating is an easy job (as opposed to just summarising). She’s been ok on the bits I’ve been able to listen to so far today.Whereas today it's Chloe Brewer a 21 year old who plays for Birmingham Phoenix, so not quite the same level of experience in commentary duty!
Sensible suggestions so NO chance of being implemented!!!I notice that the Warwickshire groundsman has been active on Twitter actively responding to people criticising the pitch. He’s essentially saying it’s all to do with the ball, which frankly is just bollocks. The truth will be that both are to blame in part, but him getting so defensive just smacks of guilt in my mind.
I’m not a fan of this idea of using the Kookaburra in general, but if it has to come in then I can understand the rationale with a view to preparation for the next winter Ashes BUT first, why do it in the coolest/wettest month of the season AND what’s the point of having it when NONE of the centrally contracted England bowlers are playing?!
Just another example of braindead thinking from the inner workings of FTECB. It would make more sense to engineer a window of 2/3 games in the month leading up to the home Test schedule where Team England makes available all of its England players/prospects available.
It's not just about the 25/26 Ashes though. We've not won in NZ in longer than the last time we won Ashes away and that's more akin to current conditions with same ball.I notice that the Warwickshire groundsman has been active on Twitter actively responding to people criticising the pitch. Anything better than nothingRaining but not expected to last long.

It's to try and improve the next generation skills for future tours too, spinners been used by every side to affect and batsman normally that would be lucky to get 50s all getting big runs under their belt.
England have struggled for a longtime in making big runs on flat pitches as much as our bowlers have struggled to take wickets on flat pitches. Producing spinners a massive failure too.
Never seen so many spinners in the wickets before even in the middle part of the season let alone April.

But which current fit seamer is likely going to play in 25/26 Ashes? So surely this experiment is more about those who are next in line(again that are fit)But with respect, all of that was covered by my suggestion regarding England players actually participating in these games.
I fully support the notion of better equipping England with the tools they’ll need to win away, however there’s not really much point of implementing radical changes to improve England’s away performances when barely any of the current playing staff (and so few of the ‘pathway’ players) are involved.
Back on now, we’ve added a furher 6 runs from the solitary over since the delay.
Tell Potts to get a move on, would be gutted if hes left stranded because of the rainA lot of rain to the west of Birmingham closing in.
Superb bowler.RIP Deadly![]()

Anderson/Woakes/Wood/Robinson are the only ones fit that your talking about. I'd be surprised if them first 3 are heavily involved.
We already know Woakes ain't going to play away again for England. Jimmy will be 43 and aside from Adelaide pink ball test won't be much use.
Wood will be pushing 36 by then and fitness will still keep being a concern. Robinson is already a fitness concern so far in his career, and assume he's been rested by the ECB from this round of fixtures.
