Forest broke two British transfer records - Shilton (for a goalie) and Francis (first 1M footballer).
Leeds spent plenty too (Cantona, Dorigo, Wallace, Hodge, Lukic)
If Leicester can win the PL and FAC and play in the champions league and still lose a fortune something is really wrong with football today. From the outside I don’t recall them going daft with transfers either.

Any mention of them being relegated on purpose to take advantage of the PL/EFL regulation differences in some way?Of course they will, but they absolutely shouldn’t be allowed to overspend in PL, get promoted using a squad assembled with that money then only get punished in the PL.
I absolutely hate the state of football atm.
They went daft on wages spending, which for me is self inflicted chasing the dream of Champions League. Given they were the only non big 6 team to get into the Champions League since 2004/05 and they were punching well above their weight when they won it then they went for it and have failed and brought it upon themselves.wasted quite a bit on poor signings. sure it was something like over 100m worth of players who left on a free in the summer
It's ridiculous and the problem is the amount of money clubs throw on wages and Leicester is a prime example. The problem is that the big 6 have around £150-200m more in total revenue so straight away they can pay higher wages. The problem is the 'gap' between a big 6 wage and the next level from the remaining clubs. The wage structure scale is skewed and clubs just risk more and more paying fees/wages trying to chase the 'dream' of Champions League, along with those clubs that relegation would be costly such as Everton. How long will football carry on like this before the powers that be realise it’s absolutely fucked and start introducing proper spending controls to level the playing field?
After reading that I believe that they will get a points deduction if they go up but won't get one while they're in the EFL.EFL have bottled it.
