Bellingham

Sick of hearing the same shit…. He’s 18. Rig is younger and a mile better. His age is irrelevant he’s not good enough

Yeah football isn’t the game for you. If you can’t see the lad has potential then you are a grade A prat.

You’re writing off an 18 year old cos we’ve got a better 16 year old? Fuckwit.

Yes he has to realise that potential and be more consistent which would be aided massively playing in a better side. As was shown earlier this season.

He's very slow and loses the ball far too many times. That's got nothing to do with his age. Compare him to Alex Scott who went to Bournemouth for £25m last season, or Archie Gray at Leeds who they value at £50m. Jobe doesn't even come close to these two.

“That’s nothing to do with age”? Expecting an 18year old to be the finished article might be the stupidest thing said on here. And that’s saying something.

Didn’t lose the ball playing deeper. Did when played higher, tells a story no?
Well over hyped though...no one player is a team.

When have I said he is a team?

Ive said he has undoubted potential. But that’s all, potential, and he/the club has to get that out more consistently.

Do you disagree?

Rigg miles better ??? Based on some idiots opinion

Both are very good prospects you prat

Put it this was Bellingham is miles better than Dan Neil was at 18

This is a ridiculous thing to say. At what age would you accept that age is a factor? 12? For a bit of perspective, at his age:

- Roy Keane was playing for Cobh Ramblers
- Jordan Henderson hadn't even gone out on loan to Coventry yet
- Declan Rice had played 1 minute of senior football
- Corry Evans had played no senior football
- Luka Modric was two years away from breaking into the Dynamo Zagreb team

I can't be bothered googling any others but you get the picture. Have a look for others yourself if you care. The reason why these weren't playing at a higher level was because they weren't good enough at that age. At 18 centre midfielders are usually nowhere near their peak. Or as you might say, they're "dog shit".

Not sure on that. Neil's talent was far more obvious. Physically he was lacking and we held him back.

Jobe hasn't been good for most of the season and yet he's played regardless.

I’m sure

If only Jobe was a Sunderland (local) lad these threads would be less

He should have been subbed, we bring a striker on all be it a shit one and stick him out wide to keep Bellingham on up front

Maybe. But he is our second top goal scorer and we weren’t blessed with any one else on the bench!

There was at least 7 worse decisions from Dodds and Co today.

He was playing at a lower level.
No one is as slow as Stefan Schwartz was. I think Lee Clarke is the second slowest I've seen.

Butler takes some beating for lack of pace. He made Lee Clarke look like he was a spotty Linford Christie.

Oh give over, where players come from has nothing to do with it - ive seen local lads get undeserved shit plenty of times over the last 30 years, bollocks to say they're more favoured.

Dan Neil always looked a classy footballer and had an obvious style.

At times despite having the physique Jobe lacks with so many aspects like taking the ball on the half turn or getting it under control. He's played over half a season as an attacking midfielder and isn't capable of playing the role, with his best form beig up front or a couple of games recently further back. Whilst he gets in good positions in and around the box, has scored a few goals his general play simply hasn't been good enough over the course of the season to warrant so many games.

He's being over exposed and that's the reason for the criticism, not where he comes from.

The comparison was made by others not me, but the point stands - he looked a better more classy footballer and still looks like it now. Jobe shows quality in moments but simply doesn't have the class on the ball Neil did and has now.
