Disney world Florida

This is why we almost always use the LBV hotels - free shuttle bus every 30 mins

*one of the reasons

Yeah the shuttles are handy, I'm just lazy and want to hop in the car and come/go as I please. Plus we always go elsewhere randomly, so it's handy to have the car.

Never actually calculated if an uber/lyft would be cheaper in a 2 week period, when just in and around the orlando area...as I say, lazy and go for convenience haha.

going nearly 3 weeks in august

On site disney 1 week then rest universal. Staying endless summer, ideal for parks buses are every 5-10 minutes and take literally 3 minutes or so to get to the parks/city walk

We always do a wallmart trip for beers, snacks and stuff for when we are around the pool, saves a fortune. Its about 10 dollars for one of the aluminium cans where you get a box of 20 for about 20 dollars.

Wish the new epic universe parks were open but think thats next year!

We were like that, except it was straight to Publix for cases of Michelob Ultra 🍺

If you're taking kids and you have a car. Go early, come back for a lunch time nap, go back and you'll see the closing fireworks. Means you miss the hottest part of the day and save some on food. Everyone will be less grumpy and tired by the end. Might also be sensible if you don't have kids mind.

That is basically what we do. Hop in and out, go somewhere for lunch, go to another park later etc etc.. You don't need to be tied to the park from opening to close, which some seem to do!

Just pay the fine. It'll still save you a fortune.
It's not just the 6 (3 x both parents) fine really. It's the time missed in school.

After missing so much time with covid it just doesn't seem like the right thing to do.

Your school must be good. Ours go at a snail's pace.

Or just set off at lunchtime and stay there until it closes and save the fuck on going there and back.

For those with young kids, would Euro Disney be a more cost efficient option? Reason I ask is I’ve got a 6 month old (so he’s too young for either regardless) but when he’s about 3 or 4 we’d want to go to Disney.

I always associated Disney US & Universal as more a thrill seeker holiday. Would have thought I’d have to wait till he’s at least tall enough to ride everything before going.

True, but then you have to think about your enjoyment and memories you make while your there. We made the mistake of going to universal on labour day, it was bedlam, I would hate to think how busy it would be during the summer holidays, you would spend all day in queues and barely do anything.

We went in 2019 and I reckon it cost nigh on 10k then all in. Just for 2 adults and we only had 1 child at the time.

We didn’t do it lavishly either. Economy flights with Virgin from Manchester. Had a Villa in Kissimeee with brother and sister in law. Park tickets with fast pass. 1 day at Universal.

We didn’t do any of the inclusive meal vouchers or anything. Ate out a few times in the evenings and occasionally got food in the parks. But other times we did a shop at Walmart and had cheap breakfasts at places like the waffle house.

And we still spent 10 grand. No cheap way to do it basically and that was 5 years ago pre the Covid price hike

Labor day is one of the busiest days of the year iirc

Dlp is good. And 3 days there is enough and much cheaper than 2 weeks in Orlando.

But if you look at the per day costs, it can be much more.

We've been going to dlp in recent years

Cheers.

Aye, from what I see there’s only 2 parks at the France one, so it won’t take as long to do everything for the little one - they still have characters and princesses etc.

Only a few ‘thrill seeker’ rides so he won’t miss out on much.

The America one seems to have so many parks - especially if you include Busch Gardens in it to get the full theme park experience.

No surprise 3 days in Paris is cheaper than 2 weeks in Orlando tbf.

Disney World in Florida doesn’t have any extreme thrill rides. There are a few good coasters like Guardians, Everest and Rock n Roller.
The big coasters are all at Seaworld, Busch and Universal.

Stumbled across some Disney page on Facebook the other day, some lunatics claiming Disneyland is rife with child trafficking. Apparently there's loads of secret tunnels that kids get kidnapped and taken away via these tunnels, they also claimed loads of the staff were wronguns.
Absolutely mental some people spouting off that.

Yes, 75% of the good stuff is in Disneyland Park and there's a smaller "Disney Studios Park" next door that was basically only built to satisfy a legal requirement.

Not to say the studios park is bad or anything, its just not at the scale you'd expect - its worth one day to get aroudn the place and see any shows etc. Actually from memory its the park with the best shows for kids.
Plenty of thril rides, not "extreme" as the other person pointed out, but that's not Disney's game. Its a family park after all.

Only thing that gripes me is that it ends up being barely more expensive to stay onsite as you get your tickets and its so much more convenient. But its bloody expensive per day. Fine for a 3 night, 4 day holiday imo. We've stayed at all 3 hotels on the lake out the back of the DIsney Village, I wouldn't pay more to pick between them tbh, they're all nice and you're on "disney property" within 2-5 minutes of leaving the hotel which is great.

i'll show it to the wife and daughter, might put them off going and save me a fortune :-)

Disneyland Paris is good, especially for young kids.
