India tour

My prediction is Pope will fail first 2 tests and Jennings will then come in at 3

It kind of makes sense calling up an extra batsmen if anyone already in India with the lions are effectively the reserves in waiting
Isn’t Perp vice captain? I can’t see them dropping him at all in all honesty especially with the loyalty Crawley has been shown under the McCullum era.

More likely he’ll fail and Foakes will get dropped at some point with Perp then taking over with the gloves.

You’re probably right like. We should just be more open to horses for courses selections and Jennings is the much better player of spin and has a good test record in the subcontinent

Really hope all concerned not too harsh on England when the inevitable happens.

Listening to the wisen podcast this morning they were saying India since Cooks team beat them there, have lost only 3 tests in 46 games never mind trying to win a series.

It’s extremely hard to win a test!!

We know it’s fact Mccullum’s style has given the players confidence to shine, and play without fear and has proved successful.

Really hope we could continue to play our test cricket with confidence and without fear whatever happens this series.

It’s near enough impossible nowadays to win there as we know they will doctor the pitches massively to suit their spinners, but playing the McCullum way has more chance then just defending and waiting for the inevitable imo.

I agree. I also guarantee on here and in the media there will be massive criticism for what people will judge as giving wickets away cheaply.

Yep it’s absolutely inevitable mate.

Admittedly there has been times when wickets have been given away cheaply, but the bigger picture tends to be forgotten in them moments .

I'll only have little more than a passing interest. There has to be some kind of sporting contest for me and I genuinely don't think that will be the case.

Yeah must admit the fact we know India will massively have the wickets in their favour means I am slightly less interested than normal as very unlikely to be anything other than a India win

It's still the biggest test series after Ashes home and away from an England perspective. Now South Africa aren't what they were.

Even if NZ home and away is a better contest. Really need to have a 5 match series against them.

Means if we win it will be even more sweet.

I go in with hope even though the expected outcome is 5-0

I just hope that if we do get the expected hammering, the ECB start baming the county championship again.

The Strauss review was a big waste of time and money.

Yeah I agree not really disputing that, more the fact the wickets will be soo heavily in favour of India meaning less of a contest

If they produce pitches that break apart as the game goes on then I reckon
5-0, 4-1 India on the cards.
If they produce what they did last time then could easily see 3-2 either way as this team will be all out in 50 overs bur 250 each innings could win the match

After the way they went on about Brook. This timing couldn't be funnier

Hope all is well as is the normal response in these situations

Was just going to say, some of the comments about Brook yesterday from Indian fans were disgusting, so quite frankly they can go and fuck themselves. Worst sports fans in the world, even worse than Newcastle.

This.

I’ve never been his biggest fan but some things in life are more important than sport. The Indian social media response (not all) to the Brook news was utterly abhorrent.

On another note, I see that England spinner Shoaib Bashir (who has family from Pakistan) is having trouble getting his visa. F*cking disgrace that.

Exactly the same situation Khawaja found himself in last year

Sure it’s just a coincidence though 🙄
