What's the rationale for not having Stokes in there even with an "if fit" qualification.

I know he'll be 36, but that's not being past it for a very good player, he's a big game player and knows how to win matches and he scores quickly (or slowly) depending on the match situation. He also has only been betttered by Malan in this tournament.
I can't see how he's not there if his knee situation is better.

I reckon he'll retire from ODIs again and focus on tests and T20, particularly with the next ODI world cup being a few years away (I assume).

Really sad Buttler has been soo very very poor in this tournament.

He remains a world class cricketer for me and has more than enough in the bank to be one of the first choices in the team going forward, as captain not soo sure.

I would also like to see Rashid kept as he has been soo pivotal to the previous success of this side and don’t see a better replacement

Keep the team, replace the coach.
Well that’s certainly a fair point imo, as surely these players have not become such bad players as this tournament suggests.

Although saying that senior players should bd able to take responsibility for their own performances as well.

True but all players still require support and encouragement when going through a bad patch. Doubt very much whether Mott has the respect or the experience to do that. Difficult also for the captain when he's going through a bad patch himself.
Couldn't have seen this happening had Morgan been in a management role. Be interesting to hear what Key has to say when he has his end of tour media meeting tomorrow.

Yeah I am a bit on the fence with it, in one sense still think players are good players so coach has to take his share of the blame for this terrible tournament and personally don’t think he should be the coach going forward.

But on another most if not all the players are very capable and very experienced cricketers who have underperformed massively and should certainly not be absolved of their responsibility and performances be blaming everything on the coach

Really hope Malan isn’t dropped permanently with the T20 WC so close.
Still feels like we are picking favourites over form, especially in the case of batters. The batters list has little to do with current form. There are 42 players with a better average than Buttler from this years T20 blast and none of the top 15 made the squad. The likes of Hain must be wondering what the hell they have to do to get noticed.

Six survivors from the WC in the ODI squad. Good to see others are getting a chance. Not sure why they persist with Livingstone.
