Would be my first choice 11. There or thereabouts.

I think i would give Salt the gloves and let Jos concentrate on his batting/captaincy.

Thoughts?

Sam Hain has to be in there for me. Unreal list A average so definitely deserves a run in the side.

Also only having 5 bowlers (and Livingstone being one of them) isn't it for me, but obviously you're just giving an idea of the team going forward, and I fully agree with most of it

I think it’s highly unlikely Roy plays again. Same for Rashid actually.

Who I would replace them with though is a tough question.

Hain in for Roy, move Salt up to open? Then give the gloves to any of Salt, Buttler or Hain

Something like that. Root maybe if he can refund some form, Potts or Tongue back up quicks
I like this. Give Butttler a couple more years then Jamie Smith or Rew will hopefully be fully firing and can come in
Actually Tawanda Muyeye should be a shoe in when he becomes eligible

Agree with all of that.

Thought it was ridiculous having 4 openers before Hain in the Ireland series. Annoying thing is in white ball nobody seems to specialise in being a middle order/finisher these days. So your left playing people out of position.

I feel Jacks can do that finished middle order role well, even though he's very good opening too.

Turner is a name I'm sure we'll be seeing soon in the pace department. Can't say I've seen him but his stats so far are great John Turner Profile - Cricket Player England | Stats, Records, Video

Aye you’re right about the middle order. It’s why Buttler is so important albeit he’s been awful this World Cup. Pope is another who might be in and around the 50 over squad

Roy has benefitted by not being there but hes been poor for the last couple of years

Roughly this for me. Much younger team but with experience in there in the form of the lesser egos.

Maybe another specialist batsman in there, but there’s plenty of batting and bowling and pace off options.

I don't get the clamour for Jacks, he seems similar to Salt from what I've seen. A hitter but without the technique to really carry that through to international level. Hope I'm wrong as it would be great to get a spinning all rounder in there.

And agree with the general consensus on Roy, I'd rather Malan carried on than him on recent form.

If Buttler calls it a day our Ollie Robinson could get in as wk
Jamie smith i think is next in line

Throw in
Salt
Smeed
Atkinson
Dawson
Topley
Tongue
Rashid in a reduced role

6 should be nowhere near that 11.

1 will never play cricket again.
