Forthcoming gigs.

The Bug Club @ Gosforth Civic Theatre - 19/10/2023.

Great live band (second time I've seen them). Love that good old-fashioned (quite Stones-ey / Jagger) rock'n'roll, leaning into some fuzzy indie rock. Well worth checking out.

Nice little venue anarl isn't it? First time I've been there. Where was the other gig you saw? They were up here quite a bit last year but this is the first gig north of Hull this year (afaik)

Not sure if you got metro back but was amused to find out in chatting that s club 7 (5) played Newcastle tonight.

Ain't no party like a bug club party!

Hahaha
My bug club spidey sense was blaring

Samantha Fish was excellent at the Fire Station tonight. Boy can she sing and play guitar. Brilliant concert and brilliant venue

Seemed an unlikely combo with Jesse Dayton but there was a real chemistry there, and a crackling, natural energy. Loved 'I put a spell on you'/'7 and 7 is'.

Tamsin is on a real roll with her bookings for the FS. Saw a post from Paul Callaghan earlier - '3 years ago, this was a car park!'

Gosforth Theatre is a hidden gem. Really nice pints, good staff and a really well-kept venue. Second time I've been, with the first being The Weather Station (last year), for a nice sitty-down gig.

Bug Club supported The Lovely Eggs at Pop Recs, back in April '22, and was really impressed by them. Their new album is out today!

Didn't want to risk the Metro, and parked up at Regent Centre. Traffic was silly in Gateshead, considering it was 22:30!

I think one of the best things about GCT is its proximity to the Metro. They've had a big refurb there this year, haven't they? Did you notice much difference?

We're there for Hejira next month. Went to the Beyond The Moors all-dayer and the wonderful Delines, plus @Twisted 's favourite, Alabaster DePlume last year. Really nice place.

I just wish he'd ditch the music and go full in on where his talent lies, being an acid casualty tribute act to neil from the young ones

Yeah, I enjoyed that. What I didn't enjoy is google bastard maps taking me at least a mile from a venue that I then found out is round the corner from the metro station.

Yeah, the refurb is decent (and I think one room is still getting done-up). The bar in the cafe is much more open and accessible (think they have a few more beers on tap too). They've added a nice little bar in the venue (I can't remember it being there when I first went).

Staff seem spot-on too. Getting served was quick and easy.
