Forthcoming gigs.

War Of Kings, Walk The Earth, Last Look At Eden, Kingdom United, Not Supposed To Sing The Blues, Firebox, Start From The Dark, Bag Of Bones, Praise You and Girl From Lebanon are a few worth checking out. Interested to know what you think.
I'd chuck in Devil Sings the Blues to that list!

Fair comment Chris.
Possibly a bit heavier / less tuneful than I was expecting. Quite a big, dare I say it generic sound.

Got War of Kings (song) on now, seems a bit better.
What's that tune at the start of Walk The Earth from??? Recognise it. Film theme tune.
It's reminiscent of either Life of Brian or The Last Crusade, or some other biblical epic.

I`m not sure, it`s an all original song. Maybe the underlying melody has been based on something else.
I love the Schenker-esq solo on War of Kings

These songs ya've listed seem canny, working through them now - I see what you mean with the Rainbow/Purple thing. I either wasn't in the mood yesterday, or those other two I just wasn't feeling.

I still think they should bring The Final Countdown back for the Cup Final like.

Cat Ryan @ Bobiks, Newcastle. 28/10/2023.

Fourth time seeing Cat Ryan, with their infectious indie rock. Still very raw, shy and learning the ropes, but I've liked all the tracks they've released so far. Debut EP out December/January-ish.

They support Sundara Karma at NUSU soon! Well worth checking-out! 🙂

Yeah - I only know this because I nicked a poster when leaving, but I will check them out (pretty sure I've seen them support someone recently).

The other support was Express Office Portico - only managed to catch the end their set.

Saw Shed Seven on Friday at Boro Town Hall
Excellent set, good mix of new stuff and old classics
Support was The Slow Readers Club - first time I'd heard of them and really enjoyed the 7 or so songs they did

At Pop Recs for the first time last night for The Daintees. Really enjoyed it. The Vaux beers on draught were great.

I thought the choice was much worse than normal to be fair, if you likes that you'll be even happier next time!

We visited xerox for the first time, dead canny little venue, took me back to house/squat party vibes and mandy indiana absolutely smashed it

penguin cafe last night at the fire station. played 2 sets. new album, then 2nd set was more focussed on the father's penguin cafe orchestra tracks. first night of the tour, decent turn out

first time in the venue. really like the place, but the bar can GTF. ordered a lager shandy and they tried to charge £8. walked away from the bar, at that point..turns out the earlier round a mate bought, was £10.50 for a shandy and can of water  . even £6 next door is a liberty when it was only £3 for a pint of coke in the peacock
