Not really. You obviously can't play a shot off a wide so it's just a gift of 25 runs. 25 no-balls would be though, because you can score off them.25 wides by Sri lanka. 4 extra overs bowled![]()

I meant that the bowlers had to put in the effort forNot really. You obviously can't play a shot off a wide so it's just a gift of 25 runs. 25 no-balls would be though, because you can score off them.
With perfect results the top 4 will lose 0, 1, 2 and 3.You would think victories against Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are likely. That takes England to 8 points. After that you’re looking at 2 wins from India, Australia, South Africa or Pakistan.
12 points should be enough?
It's getting a bit surreal. I was gutted we ended up on 364! We were on for well over 400 at one point and I thought we could break the Saffer record from the other day. Just shows you how much the game has moved on.Teams are scoring heavily, 340 is no guarantee of a win anymore.
Not a fan at all really. 2015 world cup felt like the watershed moment, and this is just carrying on in the same veinIt's getting a bit surreal. I was gutted we ended up on 364! I would agree, as for records, they all may get broken this year, some more than once.4/5th favourites for me.
I mean it is hot, there is that, but I think, they only like to watch their team bat not field.Considering the Indians are supposed to be cricket mad, the ground isn’t even half full for the start of their match this morning.
I don't know, mixed feelings for me. I do love the big hitting, but I grew up watching ODI's when 250 was a good score, 300 was rare. There seemed to be more world class bowlers about and maybe the pitches were more favourable to them. There was definitely a bigger battle between bat and ball, now it seems, it's like who can keep their foot down from the powerplay the most, keeping wickets in hand and having a bish in the last 10ovs is dying out. I suppose ODI's have had to evolve to survive. Are we at all surprised that in order to stay relevant, it has tried to ape T20's crash bang wallop? I mean, the 1st score of 500 in 50ovs is surely around the corner? Not a fan at all really. 2015 world cup felt like the watershed moment, and this is just carrying on in the same vein
Crap World Cup so far.
Not a single close game.
Aye. Games in the first part of the round robin feel meaningless. Tournament spread out over too long a time. The format is shite.
Agreed but before the start you'd have had us India aus NZ SA and Pakistan as the top 6 in whatever order. Only two games between those teams so far. Although they were both very one sided as wellCrap World Cup so far.
Not a single close game.
