It’s boring like, just watch it or don’t.It's a discussion on the merits or otherwise of the tournament.
Would be good for this thread to be about the games not just people crying about it’s existence.

Walking the dog. Came close to saying I might catch the closing overs when we got back. Realised that meant it’s probably not for me.I'm in the bath enjoying the craic on here.
Been outside earlier, like a winter's evening with the weather.Walking the dog. Came close to saying I might catch the closing overs when we got back. Realised that meant it’s probably not for me.
i think that’s how they will try and “fix it”It would make more sense and better reflect the population balance and regional identities of E&W if there was one in the North East and one in the South West. If they did that, and dropped some of the pointless format tweaks, i might even give it a chance.
How did Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, Babar Azam, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad, Pat Cummins, Shaheen Afridi, Ollie Robinson, Kyle Jamieson, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood, Mohammed Rizwan, Dawid Malan, etc etc etc etc etc etc, get on in the IPL this year? That’s fair enough that my two complaints
1 Not far enough widespread
2 The quality of players no where near what was promised
It would be better still if people could accept alternate viewpoints rather than criticising that right in colourful terms. It’s boring like, just watch it or don’t.

Not sure what your point is as I am saying I am really disappointed with the quality of overseas players and the hundred hasn’t delivered as promised. How did Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, Babar Azam, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad, Pat Cummins, Shaheen Afridi, Ollie Robinson, Kyle Jamieson, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood, Mohammed Rizwan, Dawid Malan, etc etc etc etc etc etc, get on in the IPL this year?
Seeing as you've ignored this question before, I'll answer it for you. They didn't.
Those are the best players in the world and they didn't go to the IPL. And given that the BCCI won't let their best players play in any franchise shite, what quality players were you expecting?
I agree there is loads of valid points that people make well against the hundred and I respect that alternate view.It would be better still if people could accept alternate viewpoints rather than criticising that right in colourful terms.
think they can do it?39 of 26 needed
Aye, if they dont loose wickets one after anotherthink they can do it?
The point is that you wanted unicorns. Not sure what your point is as I am saying I am really disappointed with the quality of overseas players and the hundred hasn’t delivered as promised.
As far as your other point, some of the above are no where near the best T20 players in the world not even close.
Labschagne, Khawaja, Root, Anderson, Broad, Robinson don’t even play T20 for the national side??
A lot of them players are not the best T20 players in the world as I said they don’t even play for their national side at T20.The point is that you wanted unicorns.
The IPL isn't as star studded as the sycophantic commentary tries to tell you it is, and that is the biggest tournament in the world with money that no other board can get anywhere close to. The 16.4 was never going to have superstar names and if you believed the hype then more fool you.
Those players are some of the best and biggest names in world cricket, they don't play the IPL.
The 16.4 is playing out exactly as predicted. Some of the same old journeymen smashing dozens of sixes over tiny boundaries, in a slightly shorter timeframe, in front of a typical T20 crowd.
And the game in this country is already £75m lighter for the privilege of suffering this farce.
