Sadly we have been punished for our performance in the first two tests. Lets hope we get some cricket at the Oval and they only retain the Ashes.

And I bet they will celebrate like they have won the World Cup!The worst Aussie team for years have got out of jail thanks to the weather.

True. England have had their chances in each match. Yesterday was such a waste, bowling unthreatening dross on a pitch with variable bounce.Mother Nature against England in this game but hey-ho. Methinks this debate about changing the rules wouldn't have been as intense if the series situation was the other way around![]()
Comments been made regarding earlier this morning and not getting straight on.
Yesterday there was an inspection at 2pm and they started at 2.45pm, after speaking with ground staff and knowing that if there was no more rain, it would be ready to go 45 minutes after the inspection. It didn’t rain, and they played at 2.45pm.
Today it stopped raining at around 11.30, and they spoke to the ground staff with a view of a 12.15 inspection and a 1pm start as long as there was no more rain. So exactly the same time frames as yesterday. They announced lunch in this time, as this would give the ground staff time to get it fully ready. As they did yesterday. However, it rained, and then hasn’t stopped.
Even if they inspected at 12.15 and said it was starting at 12.20, the rain came down again at 12.30 anyway.
My issue is it stopped at half 11 and they didn't begin work on the pitch until 11.55am when they took the covers off. Just felt as though it was a lack of desire. It is what it is but lost overs due to dithering has been a bigger issue, 30 overs in 3 days lost due to pissing around which we were even doing yesterday.... drinks break within 45 mins yesterday, ridiculous
Not so sure, the Aussies don't have much coming through and Starc/Cummins can't play forever. Warner is retiring and Khawaja is 36.Was 2015 the last time we held the ashes? Looking like atleast 10 years before we have the chance to regain them, and our record in Australia is generally piss
I completely agree with the lost overs due to pissing about in the 1st few days, and something needs to be done. As you say, 30 overs lost when the weather was absolutely fine.
Bigger frustration than the weather in the last 2 days for me. You can’t control the weather, you can control how you get through your overs.

Five minutes to get covers on, two hours to get them off! WTF!I completely agree with the lost overs due to pissing about in the 1st few days, and something needs to be done. As you say, 30 overs lost when the weather was absolutely fine.

Both sides bowling to few overs, as you say we’re not getting our moneys worth.I know that, just think that there should be some jeopardy involved, such as bowling slow overs etc! About time MCC (Guardians of the game my backside) clamped down on such shi*housery, all it does is rob the paying public!
Anderson I’d think so. Would be very surprised if Broad retiredQue Sara
still think England will win the last test personally.
will it be a walk off into the sunset for Anderson and Broad?
happened a lot over decades , The Oval sees retirements
Equally our bowling attacks main bowlers are 41 and 38Not so sure, the Aussies don't have much coming through and Starc/Cummins can't play forever. Warner is retiring and Khawaja is 36.
