4th test Manchester

Everyone can call the game off for themselves, turn off or leave the ground. The umpires have a regulated process to go through and so they should.

Hopefully, now we have experienced the first ever test match impacted by rain, we will be prepared in case by any rare chance it happens again.

I don't understand why this hasn't been called off. Unless the umpires went home ages Ago and forgot to tell everybody.

It is about time Old Trafford is binned from the schedule, it is well known that it always is pissing down in Manchester due to it's geographical location. Losing an Ashes series because of weather rather than how you play should be taken into consideration! Duckworth Lewis is considered in every other sort of cricket except tests! England should be 2-2!

and County Championship. It’s for limited over cricket.

I know that, just think that there should be some jeopardy involved, such as bowling slow overs etc! About time MCC (Guardians of the game my backside) clamped down on such shi*housery, all it does is rob the paying public!

Comments been made regarding earlier this morning and not getting straight on.

Yesterday there was an inspection at 2pm and they started at 2.45pm, after speaking with ground staff and knowing that if there was no more rain, it would be ready to go 45 minutes after the inspection. It didn’t rain, and they played at 2.45pm.

Today it stopped raining at around 11.30, and they spoke to the ground staff with a view of a 12.15 inspection and a 1pm start as long as there was no more rain. So exactly the same time frames as yesterday. They announced lunch in this time, as this would give the ground staff time to get it fully ready. As they did yesterday. However, it rained, and then hasn’t stopped.

Even if they inspected at 12.15 and said it was starting at 12.20, the rain came down again at 12.30 anyway.
