3rd test - Headingley

So it only took us to be 2-0 and 87/5 facing a nearly 200 deficit to actually apply ourselves and play test cricket.

If we had shown a modicum of this application we'd not be 2-0 down.

It was a valid decision. It didn't work out but they didn't have the benefit of hindsight at the time. If Australia had lost a couple of quick wickets it would have been called a genius decision.

It wasn't a particularly high score to declare a first innings on and the chances of a couple of quick wickets against the best test team in the world in four overs was always gonna be slim.

Bazball has been the issue imo, gifted them the first two wins through gifting them wickets

Before "bazball" we were an absolutely woeful side that couldn't win at all. With this new style we are atleast looking like putting together enough runs to be competitive in the vast majority of innings. This biggest difference in my opinion has been our fitness and taking our chances.

The new system requires players to do as little/as much practice the players feel they need before matches. For athletes at the top of their game that doesn't seem to be a good way of doing things and our fielding suggests that we haven't done a lot of practice!

England are just not very good at this cricket malarkey, bit like football as well, it's our way, gallant losers when it comes to the real business.
Aye apart from winning 11 out of last 13 tests coming into this series and current world champions at 50 over and T20 cricket!!!

Not sure what your definition of not very good is mate, but I would definitely say the above is the complete opposite of it?

Aye agree with all of this.

I'd add they definitely have believed their own hype and not used their heads at all in this series. Then it's blown up in their faces.

We seem to be doing it now it's too late. Can't just expect what we did in Pakistan and NZ to be the game situation every single test.
