3rd test - Headingley

I still think Bairstow the batter has something left but this series is giving me Matt Prior last series vibes when he was struggling with his achilles/ankle injury

Agent Bairstow, scoring fuck all and dropping catches all ower the shop.
That first test declaration man, will possibly go down as one of the stupidest cricketing decisions in history.

It was a valid decision. It didn't work out but they didn't have the benefit of hindsight at the time. If Australia had lost a couple of quick wickets it would have been called a genius decision.

One of the issues with Crawley is that he takes an off stump guard to help negate LBW but it also means he plays at balls he doesn't need to. He's been out a couple of times this series playing defensively at ball that are well outside off stump. Not terrible shots but symptomatic of taking an off stump guard.
Hes looked better than last year and is at least contributing against a better attack, which is more than i expected from him tbf, low bar i know

Who would we replace Crawley with ? There's no one really is there. Foakes for Bairstow seems an obvious one. Anderson for Robinson and even more obvious one.

Still think we'd be more dangerous with tongue in for Ali and using Root as spin.

This Murphy for Australia is meant to be canny isn't he ? Only 22.
