Wrestling - Part 3

Smaller venues for the weekly tapings would be good I reckon. Would be different visually.
Weren't tickets for DON 4 for $40 and there were local bars giving them away if you bought a burger?

This was fake news. Eric Bischoff's Strictly Business podcast talked about it (That podcast is really interesting btw)

WWE already have that market in NXT.

Punk's expensive and he brings alot of baggage, he's literally the Wrestling version of Joey Barton and more importantly, it's proven he's not a draw cos everyone's bored of him. Big swing and a miss bringing him back.

NXT been shite for ages, they can definitely make a small venues market work for them but they'd have to do something different and unique to them.

Problem AEW have had is everything they've done - Rampage, Dark, Elevation, even what they have done with ROH so far has just seemed like a weaker version of dynamite so no one bothers.

Buff Bagwell has said he’s been filming an episode of Dark Side Of The Ring about his story and that’s not a one listed for this season, looks like we’re getting another season after the current one

Punk looks like he’ll be the new Cena in terms of crowd response which is whatever, he’s brought it on himself.

I know the ticket sales are poor in Ontario but that’s not a surprise considering they are running Forbidden Door 1st (which is basically sold out) then a Dynamite then two collision shows in the span of 5 weeks, you burn out a market that’s what happens.

Either way ticket sales don’t mean much nowadays (for standard shows) as I’ve said countless times, it’s just for sad fuckers to argue over on the internet (see Twitter) same as ratings, only people who should care about the rating are the company and their tv partner.

Anything with Buff the Stuff is worth a watch…. Except him becoming a gigolo 😂

Any word on if AEW Collision has TV deals in Europe?

The ref there is Red Bastien. Oldtimer wrestler and later became a ref. He used to ref a lot of Piper's matches in WWF as they were best friends and Piper would be DQ'd a lot. He would overdo things sometimes to sell for him. Looks mint in all honesty

MJF keeps proving he's the best out there. Not sure why we can't have someone in the middle of these promos though. If you were Cole, you'd just kick him in the knackers really.

MITB match line up:

LA Knight
Butch
Nakamura
Ricochet
Santos Escobar
Either Riddle or Priest (TBD on Monday)

Has to be LA Knight winning that I'd put outside money on Santos though, they're pushing the Lucha's hard lately. That's a great mid-carder line up.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a cash in on the US or IC belt this year, maybe the latter after September - After September because that's when Gunther officially becomes the longest IC title holder of all time.

Journalists have given reviews on the AEW game out in 2 weeks time.

Weakest points are the character creation and career mode which is a bummer but they say the gameplay itself is great and if the online servers are stable then it'll be a success.

MJF has "Vince was right" on his armband.😂

Adam Cole and MJF was great, MJF knocking that’s lads glasses off man 😂, loved the ending, not keen on Championship eliminator matches but really enjoyed it

Guessing we get Sting and Jericho in the run up to sting’s retirement then or a tag match at least, Cage with the surfer Sting face paint was a nice touch

Hager and Wardlow trying to put me to sleep 😂

Sanada open challenge at Forbidden door, MJF/Tanahashi, OC/Sabre Jr, Daniel Garcia/Shibata (probably) as well as Omega/Ospreay and Okada/Danielson, fuck me this PPV is going to be absolutely wild from an in ring perspective, couldn’t care less if it hasn’t any story this show should be toppa

Seen talk of Punk v Kenta as well, GTS V GTS that’d be canny to see after all the shit talking Kenta has done for years 😂 dunno if true though

Really looking Forward to Jack Perry smashing that chair over Hook like 😂 bit of a random pick to have against Sanada mind

Andrade/Matthews is going to FUCK!!!

Ospreay absolutely killing Omega at the end 😂

Thought that was a great show tonight.

This week's Dynamite has got to be one of their best shows ever, such a great crowd added to it.

Forbidden Door looking to be incredible.
