Wrestling - Part 3

Alot of AEW Fight Forver footage coming out now.

Looks like a direct cross between WWE Wrestlemania 2000/No Mercy and 2k Battlegrounds.

The exact same mechanics as the old Wrestling games are there along with the silliness of having tennis racquets, skateboards and mouse traps as possible weapons. I'm not happy with the 2k Battlegrounds element but I'm kinda sold on it.

Pre-order bonus is Matt Hardy and Broken Matt Hardy characters.

Cody Rhodes is in the game. Some people find that very surprising, some people don't.

The crowd didn't give a shit when TK announced the show was debuting in Chicago.
I mean let's be honest in the Wrestling universe if you think of a show and Chicago you think of 1 person, but this f***ing crowd didn't.

There's been some really bad crowds over in America lately. The one where the crowd was so quiet they didn't even sing to Rollins' theme WWE are thinking about f***ing off altogether.

The Saudi's going mental for apparent no reason was actually a breath of fresh air.

I'm saying it right now.

The bloodline stuff is the best thing in Wrestling history. Watch the full segment without any spoilers and this is the tension you get on a regular Smackdown episode.

Specifically when Solo turned on Reigns only for it to be a double turn in the end

It's easy to shit on Vince for some of the major flops he's had, ironically face Reigns being one of them, but this is also 1 of his stuff and you gotta admit, when he gets it right, he's a genius.

Nah I agree with him wholeheartedly. It literally has every single aspect to be up there with the best storyline ever.

A very long history, family feuds, brilliant matches, exceptional storytelling and a villain that has manipulated everything around him and is now watching it all crumble around him.

The mental thing is that this storyline has been the main story for over 3 years, but there is still so much more to explore. It literally has to last right the way through until next WM now.

Oh, I enjoy it but don't think it's the best thing ever in wrestling. Best thing for years and the best thing atm in wrestling. Cody going in and out of it as well I like. I'm guessing he'll be involved again after MITB (is that next month or this?)
 
It’s all subjective tbh, personally I’d have The Mega Powers imploding, Sting v NWO (the payoff was shite but build was top notch) and Hogan/Heenan, Rock/Stone cold and Stone cold/Vince all up there for different reasons.

I could probably name more but like I say it’s subjective to literally everybody 😂

LA Knight is winning it. The pops were so huge for him last night they decided to fuck off the edited boo's out altogether. Montez was the 'face' in the match got booed on every move.

If he doesn't win it, it's an actual disaster.

I don't actually get it why he's so over, but he's an easy #2 or #3 competing with Rollins right now. I don't think he gets it neither as he stopped the match to look at the crowd.
The London crowd are gonna go absolutely f***ing nuts for him, and I'm gonna enjoy watching that.

On the bloodline stuff. They're yet to introduce to 2 big ones to the story yet being Rikishi and The Rock. The former is obviously not gonna wrestle but will get involved and the latter will. But there's an easy 12-24 months left in the faction.

I said Cody should win MITB just because it makes sense, I actually haven't checked if he's in it! Is he? Makes total sense for him to win and state he wants Roman at SS.

LA Knight is great. He's acknowledged the way he is because, he looks like a wrestler, is actually a good wrestler, is entertaining and connects with people. I hope he doesn't end up another Sandow but as a performer, and a wrestler he's very. very good. I'm all for him winning or doing anything positive but I just think Cody is where they're going ultimately.

There is the Rock and Rikishi who could be introduced but they're just not getting the Rock, unfortunately. Rikishi would be interesting as a one-off. If they want to extent the story, Jacob Fatu is who they need to bring in. He is a f***ing beast! Team him with Solo. Probably won't happen though

Christ NWA is shite now, watching (on the computer when UFC is on) the Crockett Cup, literally the only thing worth a shit is Kamille, mind I shouldn’t be surprised considering Tyrus (Brodus Clay) is the main champion 😂 and Billy Corgan hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing.

Looking forward to Dominion, think they’ll have a few things set up for Forbidden door from the Japanese side.

On Jacob Fatu, he’s been dropping loads of titles in the indies (mostly to Matt Cardona unsurprisingly) so I wouldn’t be shocked to see him in WWE soon if his MLW contract is up.

WWE are now on Twitch doing pre-Shows for their weekly shows starting from tonight.

I said this maybe a year or 2 ago, but I said I reckon Impact will just end up streaming their shows on Twitch or a rival platform, alot of Latino indie shows already do, I think we're edging slightly closer to this.
 
Going back on Dark Side of the Ring running out of ideas for episodes; Maybe season 5 could just be ECW. The entirety of its existence. All the wrestlers that died or had problems during and after is enough to fill at least four 40min episodes for them.
Thank god Punk is coming back to AEW. Damage has already been done, really. Will be interesting to see what happens from now. Good to see Aubrey finally has an angle... Jesus. Mark Briscoe just standing around amongst it. Sakes. lol

It's a comparison to the programme. Nah a boxing one would be unreal, take the wrestlers and quantify their characters into real life and then add-on stories that are way more dark and mental than anything on the wrestling one and you have yourself a hit.
