Have you actually read it. He’s praising us massively, he doesn’t have to do that, he actually comes across like he has a lot of class.

Like he’s said, Clarke is happy, it’s about whether SAFC deem an offer too good to refuse. I took from that Clarke won’t force a move which is hugely posistive.

Many other agents doing interviews about their players taking up their goals and saying they are available for the right price?

Said earlier on in the thread the initial 9m report would have been bizarre to have been leaked by either the selling or buying club.

Aye I’ve read it. After a report last week saying we’ve turned down 9 million he’s suddenly done an interview talking him up and saying he’s available for the right price.

He doesn’t need to say anything at all but here he is. What’s the motive for the interview?

Aye I’ve read it. After a report last week saying we’ve turned down 9 million he’s suddenly done an interview talking him up and saying he’s available for the right price.

He doesn’t need to say anything at all but here he is. What’s the motive for the interview?

The motive is the agent and club are at the moment discussing a more lucrative contract for Jack.I love him to death but I would take 25 mil otherwise tell these clubs to f... off.

Aye, upping his wages really though it does say in that article that a bid of 15 mill will open up talks and names a couple of PL sides who want him.
 
Harte sounds class as his agent. Saying how well
He is doing, offers are in for him but he is happy here.

Harte also looks after Huggins as well. Hope some of our youth use him as well. Not greedy over the top got the best interests in for his clients but not taking the piss.
 
Like I said before his agent is playing the game, he just playing it more smartly and not to piss on any chips at the club.

He doesn't though? He's saying Clarke is happy here, but sometimes high bids come in and it's out of players hands. He doesn't say Clarke wants away at all?

Which is a damn sight better than the positions weve been in for the last 10years or so. What a pleasant change to be worrying about "good players" leaving and not crying for the club to get rid of some over priced deadwood. Im pretty chilled about the speculation as I think well either get a good fee that reflects his worth and replacement value or he'll sign an new deal and we have another few seasons with a really good player.

Yes he says he’s happy here. I’ve not said Clarke wants away?

There was a bid last week reported as 9 million being rejected (someone has leaked it) and now his agent is doing press interviews saying he’s happy but ‘if the price is right’…even with a transfer fee specified in the article that would be the talking point for us to sell.

He can be happy here but still leave for the prem ‘if the price is right’.

Fwiw I was told a couple of weeks ago something that suggests he was making plans to be here next season, or at least certainly not something that would have been on his mind if he was intending to leave (it’s actually touched on in the article as well kind of) but it was second hand info from a player speaking on his behalf and tbh would be nothing that would stop him from going anyway. Just an action that had he been planning on leaving he wouldn’t bother doing.

Doesn’t mean if a PL side comes in with the right offer he won’t leave. Just means it will take a bigger package to get him.

I don’t see why he would tbh. I don’t see us as the type of club that would stand in the way of a good transfer for players either as long as the price is good/fair. Which is also a good thing for prospective targets.

I’ve got absolutely no doubt at all Harte is wanting the right deal to come in though.
 
Think for an agent Harte was fair enough, said he loves it here and isn’t actively looking to move but if a ridiculous offer comes in the club wouldn’t say no.
