IPL 2023 🇮🇳


The Times reporting that six English Test and ODI stars have been offered full time contracts to quit international cricket and play in franchise leagues around the world. Some Aussies were approached a few months ago.

Instead of playing international cricket they will play in the India, UAE, Caribbean, South African, Saudi and USA T20 leagues.


As predicted by some and as ignored by others.

Having Indian money behind it makes this a completely different animal. We've already given them the a huge gift and stopped playing cricket in our summer, this is just the next step. I suspect we'll fall into line, there's already been talk of Indian investment into some 16.4 franchises.

If you're a big name and you can sign for £20m over 4 years then why wouldn't you? Play these exhibition games around the world for a month at a time, pretend they mean something, pocket a fortune. Lovely.

Exactly. Still we’ve got the 16.4 which everyone is gagging to play in

Exactly and if they had sense they should have approached the ipl to do just that

Indian players in the t20 , draft system etc but spread around the country and not just six teams

They would have made a fortune from Indian tv for a start which would allow for cricket in tv free to view as well

Still they thought alienating the fans they had with a format no other country has an interest in
 
How long since Stokes last played now, must be over 5 weeks...just missing out as a precaution wasnt he... 🤔
