The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

Apparently the maintenance will be too much to get oher items such as rubbish cleared with a team who will absail down from the roof to constantly clear often...just what the safety officer has told Nick Barnes.
You can get retractablevnetting on electric winches so I don't believe they have done their homework properly. It's common on the continent and I really doubt they have people abseiling in after every game.

Like when that disabled Newcastle fan went to the media after he got hit with one from our fans at their place? Everyone just laughed at that 🤷‍♂️
Part-time disabled fan, please.

I'm sure many of us remember the next derby match where he was photoed proudly marching with the 'naughty boys' before being captured hurling abuse at safc kids from behind the safety of a cordon provided by Northumbria's finest.

I know nowt about netting and I'm still amazed they'd come out with that! There's not a chance that every other club with netting needs to spend a fortune on fuckers absailing from the roof ffs. I know people think the meetings with club are pointless because they'll just say any old shit, but this issue has annoyed me enough that I'll be very happy to ask follow up questions. Their minuted reason for not installing netting has been proven not to be the case, anything else they suggest about it should be backed up by a proper assessment

12 years old with enough challenges in his life and the club don't give a toss. How generous of them to allow him to move his season ticket.

New regime no better than the old.

KLD needs to show some proper leadership over this. Club showing no empathy and the PR is a shambles atm.

Good job we’re having a great season on the pitch, but we should still criticise and point out the shortcomings on stuff like this

You know about 7 years ago I went on a tour around the Colosseum in Rome and at the top tier they had sails in place to keep the sun off spectators.

These sails could be opened or closed via a pulley system.

That was 2000 years ago

But today - in one of the birthplaces of the industrial revolution - we are being asked to believe only a fixed net would be viable, that it would collect crisp packets etc, and then these crisp packets could only be cleaned out by abseilers on top dollar.

As we have forgotten the technology that the Romans invented to make the nets retractable.

FFS

So how do so many European clubs like Feyenoord manage then? Abseilers on lower wages over there? Or are they more careful with their crisp packet disposal?

Stewards at the North Stand today searching our own fans. Asked me if they could search me as I had some stuff in my coat pockets (was my work stuff, came straight over from work). I said no, and that he should spend his time searching the away fans and it was insulting he was searching home fans after the weekends events. He just let me walk in without question. If that’s how they are doing their “searches” it’s no wonder they aren’t finding anything

Loads of extra stewards on the sponsor boards in the north tonight. Must have been worried people were going to gan on the pitch.

Not that they would have been able to stop anyone like.

So is it OK to throw flares down onto opposition fans in your view then?
