The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

I think i've sat in the North stand once (IIRC, it was for a game versus Boro, Michael Reddy scored. It may have been a cup game or even a beam back from boros ground.

Memories a bit hazy.

The reason i'd not sit there again is because i don't was objects likely to injure me, landing on my head.
 

Away fans to the SEC, Family zone to the NEC so that it's next to the Beacon fanzone. Leave upper north closed unless demand for tickets means it opens up. Aye it might look a bit shit when away teams bring 300 fans, but that looks shit on them, not us.

I know you are joking but I don’t think that will be the case. Normal fans and authorities are getting increasingly frustrated with these scummy chavs ruining matches. More draconian measures are needed to eradicate them from games so everyone else can enjoy games.

They simply don’t care. As long as the ST sales stay high that’s all that matters to this board. We like to think at least we have an ownership more traditional and far removed from the horrors of being owned by a murderous state, but in all honesty our board is miles away from the supporters. It’s a shame as they are missing a massive opportunity to cement a great fan rapport

I don't get why the council would object? I get there's developments going on around there, but still don't see why that's a reason to not have away fans in the south stand. Nothing stopping them walking around the ground and to the new bars in sheepfolds for example

Who knows? Possibly. But I would fully support every single person in that stand getting up and walking out/onto the pitch the next time this happens. I would also support a suggestion I’ve just seen elsewhere which would be to stop the game and eject ALL away fans. I would also support the referee taking the players off the pitch or our players walking off. Something drastic needs to happen.

Yup, set up barriers and airport style security for away fans, can be done, NHL games at Wembley have it and only allow clear bags, just takes a bit of will to do it. With clear bags only it could create a business opportunity for someone opening a secure storage place for non compliant bags, club's could sell official badged bags, win win! They have mobile secure leathers storage at Silverstone for MotoGP, can be done.

They will need to take action now with the attention it is getting. Moving them will take time but in the meantime,other measures.

Eject all away fans ?!? Where would they go ?
So if we got points docked it would be ok ?

I cannot recall, where i read it, but it was because of the proposed new developments other than that it did not go into a great amount of detail. Mind it may be totally fake news as well as you cannot believe a lot that is written

I'm pleased it has appeared on the BBC hopefully give the story a wider audience and more credence.

The club don't seem to car about the fans at the minute, maybe they will care if they get genuine pressure from multiple angles.

It needs to be fair for all sides. I personally don't hate the pyro stuff but respect the fact there is people with medical conditions and children there and it's not acceptable. Especially if they are being thrown down with other items.

the club need to be stronger on this. I thought the statement yesterday was a bit shit. Basically saying we know someone got hit, shit happens.

thats an issue.

there may be two sides to the story. The club may be working its nuts off to get something done but are being hindered.

On the other hand they may be doing nothing and sticking their heads in the sand.

I do not know the answer, I hope it is the former and I desperately hope it is not the latter.
