Kicked off SAFC land for protesting against digital

Come off it man
This is exactly what the club has said
"all physical season cards will be discontinued upon the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign"

That couldn't be more clearer. If they don't backtrack, lots of (mainly older) supporters are just going to jack in. The couple we have in our group have said they'll be packing in if there isn't a physical option.
We are too. 4 regular attenders will have been lost.

I dont know the fella at all but telling a fan who's probably being going for years and invested money on tickets etc and from what the lad says at start of thread helps with flags, telling him to move for voicing his concerns is absolutely disgusting

If you sat in the south stand you'd see him matching up and down the steps endlessly carrying flags about. Does far more for the club than plenty of people who take a wage.

Think I'm jacking it in after this season anarl if this goes ahead.

He was standing outside the Roker End cafe/shop when we signed the petition at approx 2;45...plenty folk signing and numerous favourable comments...Lads such as him and others of his calibre will be here long after this current "project" and it's "devotees" are long gone..
Shame I didn’t see otherwise he’d have had a couple more signatures.

Can Tik Told not let them know your on your way over and the turnstile opens as you arrive.
Terrible these old fashioned ways where you just wave a card and you gain admittance.

Get with it Grandad. Single-use (well, every three seasons) plastic is so 2000s

Sad. Honestly never thought I’d be in this position but it just looks like the club doesn’t want my custom. We are an absolute mess off the pitch.

Though what disappoints me is some supporters can’t see the damage and issues stuff like this causes for a lot of fans who aren’t tech savvy.

I can see the logic in there being a fee, if only to prevent them ending up with 30% of people demanding a physical card because they’ve always had one or just to be difficult. You can imagine a lot of the same people who order food, concert tickets, taxis etc on their phone deciding they won’t do it for the football.

Not particularly fair on those with a genuine reason but there you go.

Even if 30% do but they have to collect fornt the ticket office then the cost will surely still be next to nowt to the club?
Seems like false economy to me. I'm happy to have a digitial ticket but those not so should have the option when they're forking out a lot of money every single year, particularly in the present economic environment.
And it's so cool Pops to use your phone.

I'll be entering the turnstile whilst drop-shipping and Tik Tok dancing

Drones with facial recognition software overhead. Pint waiting at the Tavern. Turnstile opens as you walk up and greets you with a personal welcome.

Arrested after game by pre-cognition police as they see what you are about to do to nice Mr Speakman after the latest result...

for the admin costs how different is this to concert tickets where you get charged for paper tickets and postage for the extra work on involved in this.
It's not but admin costs should never be added to any ticket/subscription.

People saying how easy and fantastic this will be are probably forgetting how shit the season ticket website was to begin with when trying to simply add people to your account.

But “the data” says it’ll be great so that’s that.

Seems like it’s their way or the highway at the moment.

A lot of older fans who’ve been with the club through thick and thin and basically being told they have to adhere to what the club want without any bedding in or consultation.

As some one has said, when Newcastle sent out theirs last year they got a nice leather wallet and pin badge. Mine came in a handwritten envelope and didn’t even have the SAFC crest on it. Now we’re being told it’ll be emailed and hidden away. What does my 66 year old Dad do who hasn’t got a smart phone?

For all the good work the club have done on the field the off field work is severely lacking.

It really feels like people are whipping this whole thing up to something it really isn’t.

1) the club are reducing their overheads to make the club more sustainable. Less admin = less overheads = more money to spend in other areas

2) it sounds like the old fashioned methods still available according to @Guinness Guzzler

3) for the admin costs how different is this to concert tickets where you get charged for paper tickets and postage for the extra work on involved in this.

The same posters who constantly criticise the regime are constantly chipping away, I feel like we’ve one of the most modern forward thinking owners for a while and some fans are constantly undermining them.

Yes they’ve made mistakes and the PR is crap at times and this whole digital ticket thing could have been handled infinitely better but I’m all for cashless and all for digital tickets (with alt methods)

All we have to go on is that the clubs official statement explicitly stated it'll be entirely digital & some hearsay from another member.

Concert tickets, just because they've been taking the piss for years doesn't make it OK. You get charged because it's passed onto a 3rd party & it's their admin costs. And you get charged even for a digital version. If you buy a paper copy directly from the venue, you don't get charged. So actually it's the complete opposite
