I'm all for current players. The aim is to support the team. The team that is playing now, not back in 1935. Do you think Jewison is arsed about Raich Carter et al? Let's support the current crop! It's great to have the odd reminder but everything we do is aimed at Sunderland 80 years ago and there's very little recognition for the current crop. A mixture is a good idea 👍

I think the current players are a good idea, especially great moments like Jewi's goal against Watford.

Someone had a good idea on a previous thread, have a big flag/banner with some French former players (Cisse, M'Vila, Malbranque maybe?) and then add in Ba, Michut, Lihadji etc. I'm thinking a similar size to the miner style banners.

Could do the same with an academy one, and have Henderson, Pickford, Neil, Embleton, Patterson and maybe hoy Rigg on there.

A nice FTM one wouldn't go amiss as well. I remember Man Utd unveiling a big Union Jack flag with FTM on it before an FA Cup game against them at Roker Park, it was class.

If we have a one in that manner it should be about the Saudis IMO. Join Boro and Palace in getting stuck into the Sportswashing. No blood on our hands. We’ve been way too quiet on this proper issue while still singing about Shearer FFS.

O’Nien is the one current player who deserves a flag I reckon. Plus he’ll be here next season. Bennette mightn’t even make the bench (I know he’s young).

Armstrong’s header against Chelsea is proper iconic for anyone aged 35+ and deserving of a flag imo.

Mags at home has to be an LGBT+ one or a Khashoggi one. Don’t think our lot would particularly like an LGBT+ one though…..
 
Cloughy flag would be canny although he’s more connected with other clubs he still played for us and has a cracking goals to game ratio. Also said his happiest time was with us

I’d also like a big European flag no Union jacks.

Dec is the most bipolar bloke and they do things to get clicks. My name is on the fundraisers, we all stand at the front holding banners up. If anyone has a genuine concern or question they know where to find us. They don’t actually believe what they’re writing, they just want someone to like it.
