SMB Tennis thread

Anyone watching break point on Netflix by the makers of drive to survive? Watched the first one last night focussing on Kyrgios at the Aussie open last year. , was pretty good.

Korda playing lights out tennis to beat Medvedev in straight sets, 2 year runner up out in the 3rd round.
Tsitsipas v Sinner 4th round, hoping the greek carries on his form and wins this tournament

Seemed like every ball that landed a couple of feet shorter than the baseline got slapped for a winner especially on his forehand side, was really impressive. Seemed to get pretty tight at the end of a couple of sets but saw it through in both to be fair to him.

Hope Korda reaches the semi in that side of the draw now, would have liked to have watched a Tiafoe v Korda QF but Tiafoe's fourth set tie break was erm... not ideal.

Medvedev not been the same sine Rafa beat him in the final last year.

Struggle to like Tsitsipas, plays good tennis but seems like a bit of a dick, would like Sinner to win the tournament.

Still not buying this Djokovic injured stuff, he has played possum far too much during his career and fully expect him to still win the tournament.

Murray is digging in again but Bautista Agut was so complacent in the middle of that 2nd set and couldn’t get his level back to his it was at the start of the match.

Murray’s mental resolve is amazing. He looks totally drained but keeps coming up with incredible shots. Great match. Surely even Murray can’t keep this level up.

Another Djokovic match and another MTO, only this time after he won the 1st set -.-
Medvedev has spoken since the match saying that he needs to get back to winning against the top players and that he just cant get over the line, so at least hes aware of his issue.

Tsitsipas is actually really nice, just struggles having his Dad in his corner sometimes, and he never seemed to recover mentally from that French open final against Djokovic when he was playing brilliantly all tournament.
Hoping this is his tournament.

Sinner....I would not rule out a shot at Wimbledon the way he played last year

If a footballer has a hamstring issue they are out injured for at least a few games .

When Novak supposedly has one he’s running and diving all over the court like superman :D .

Will never not be funny that Fed and Nadal fans who are bitter that he's better than their fave think 22 time Grand Slam winner and the greatest player of all time needs to pretend to be injured to get in the heads of his opponent to be able to beat them

Murray is absolutely ridiculous. It's a pleasure watching him compete. Don't understand how he can still play at this standard given what has happened to him

There it is.
Murray’s hip problem became a massive problem after a match against RBA at the Australian open. It’s a nice bookend that probably his last match at the Australian open will be against RBA.
