LegendNot sure mate but can't harm to bring it up. If it's impossible for some reason (god knows why it should be in this day and age) then we should at least get a decent official explanation for it. Sadly they get complaints constantly about it, including from people in local government from what I remember, and haven't done anything so I doubt the club asking will have any effect. Completely agree that they should be adding their voice to it though, will request that it's mentioned
ES got sick of going to games and seeing our fans stuck away in corners far from the pitchside.Out of interest, we're you around in the days when away support was in the SS?
If we can move the away support, which is a far greater security/policing operation that moving 'family' support then I'd welcome it.
Anyone tell me why this change.was made? I.e was the Police having to many issues with the original design of the ground to implement such a change?
ES knew nowt though did he, let's be fairES got sick of going to games and seeing our fans stuck away in corners far from the pitchside.
Not sure on the time, just heard its tomorrow PM. Some of the committee members will be present. I've passed on the main comments from this thread and said that they really need to communicate what their plans are because people are losing patience with the issue seemingly being kicked down the road whilst fans risk getting hurt every time they go to the match.@DonaldDownTheWing what time is the meeting tomorrow mate? @Guinness Guzzler are the RAWA going as well?
The club needs to be ran not like a corner shop generally.Needs to be stewarded and policed correctly
They may be rich but aspects of this failure could provoke criminal prosecution depending on the attitude the authorities took. They’re 2/3 forrin mega rich marra. They probably don’t think UK H&S applies to them.
ES knew nowt though did he, let's be fair
He knew away fans shouldn’t be given prime seats in OUR ground. He was correct on that matter.ES knew nowt though did he, let's be fair
Like they could at Sheff Utd. And again, the safety officer has done safety check and wants a net so it's not deemed a risk?
We've got the club safety officer advising the club to get a net and the club refusing.
Hes emailed fans saying he's recommended netting but nobody wants to pay for it.How do you know that?
What has the council said? You may find that it’s them that don’t want the net
They should put up an elasticated net so that anything thrown bounces back into the morons that threw it.
I think this argument is far from over.Have you been up there? It’s freezing cold in winter ffs
This ‘put them where they were designed to be’ argument is finished, it’s how they are dealt now, and they certainly won’t be going back to the south stand.
I think this argument is far from over.
It would require the least changes in procedures and would be met with approval from the police who operated in this way for years.
It will also improve the atmosphere in the stadium as the fans react to each other.
It is the safest, most cost effective option for the club and both sets of fans.
Hes emailed fans saying he's recommended netting but nobody wants to pay for it.
It's in this thread I think at the beginning.
Says who?I think you might find the council have a say in it and there is an issue there
