Im sure in Stokes documentry when commenting on the Bristol incident refers to Hales as "my friend at the time".
Friendships shouldn't matter anyway but Hales will have a bit of work to do. He was an Usher at Buttlers wedding so has been close to a good few before

It’s clear we never got the full story (and maybe we never will), but I’ve always resented Morgan* for what I’ve perceived as him putting his personal feelings ahead of what is best for the side.

No coach, player or captain can ever be bigger than the team. In any sport.

*However I’ll always fondly remember his influence and his ideas that led us to becoming World champions.
 
Think I might have a little dabble on England to win the World Cup and Hales to be top run scorer. His batting will suit the Ozzie wickets very nicely I reckon.
