He's got making up to do after he was giggling with Defoe and you lot went mental
I've never understood why any fan would go mental at that. It's their job and they're all professional players.

Some bloke from Holland and some bloke from London aren't going to give the slightest shit about Newcastle / Sunderland needle and the backlash he got for it is ridiculous. Was a brilliant goal

Mag lover

 ^ as if a grown adult is making comments like this.
Who? Wood? Not sure but I'm sure 100k was mentioned somewhere. If that's accurate, we will struggle to offload him fully like. He was the one signing I think which was a panic.

100k  I was thinking about 60/70 which I would have thought was high. Although can’t keep up with modern values/wages.

Can’t imagine anyone paying him anywhere close to that, but like I say, the transfer did what it was supposed to do.

Realistically who else was available at that price level?

I already sense fans are turning on him and think he should leave in January rather than take up a squad place. You might know better Very similar to Braithwaite at Barca who is on the receiving end of abuse. Hopefully doesn‘t go that far with Wood.
This us not a joke….

Can you confirm an in depth analysis of sportswashing please?
Luckily it doesn't apply to us..so to us minions we need to be educated..because sportswashing DOES apply to yourselves and your club...please give us a modicum of insight of how it actually works..please give an honest answer and try not to bullshit.....the floor is yours!!

He should change his name to Olly Shakespeare 👏🏻

“You can’t take money from a regime like that and retain any claim to be some sort of sporting ambassador. Surely Joshua can see that. Nearer the start of his career, there was a time when it seemed Joshua might be a figure who could transcend sport, but that opportunity has been lost and with it, his hopes of a meaningful legacy.

The Saudis are using him and sportsmen and women like him to try to sluice away international unease about their human rights abuses.”

“Joshua was seen as a hero once but if we vilify golfers such as Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka for taking Saudi cash and joining LIV, then the same attitude has to be applied to Joshua and those, such as Eddie Howe and Dan Ashworth, who have joined Newcastle United as manager and sporting director respectively since Saudi Arabia bought the club.”

“How refreshing it would be if a footballer said he was not interested in joining Newcastle because he didn’t want the Saudi cash. That should not seem so outlandish, surely, particularly not at a time when players are more and more aware of their social responsibilities. Andy Murray has made it clear he will never play in Saudi Arabia. Rory McIlroy has been adamant he will not take Saudi cash.”

“At least Lewis Hamilton, who raced in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix earlier this year, had the courage and the conscience to call on the Saudi regime to improve their human rights record. Joshua and Howe have stayed resolutely silent and their silence shames them. Joshua says he doesn’t know what sportswashing is, which is convenient given that he is being used as one of its most powerful tools.”

“All of them, all the boxers and golfers and footballers who take the Saudi cash, may become rich beyond their wildest dreams because of it. But there is a cost. There is a price. The price is that we will never look at any of them in the same way again.”

That's tha point really. Nothing was available easily, they panicked and overpaid. Whether he leaves possibly depends on Wilsons fitness. We shall see.

Not sure it was topflight?

Last game of 1978/79 season they had 7,134.

We played Cardiff the week before (same division) and had 36,526. We finished 4th, they finished 8th.

Best fans in the world apparently caveated by being in Europe, breaking transfer records of course.
You’re at it again, cherry picking crowds.
As I said, we pretty much (95%) of the time have bigger average gates than you.
The amount of research you do on Newcastle is staggering! As is the amounts of posts about us. 99% of your posts are about Newcastle. Why’s that?

Didn't even step aside.....weren't interested

It will be interesting to see how he plays. Admittedly I never watched him for 90 mins.

Seems the Prem is going from strength to strength which is quite depressing for any Championship side :(

Club with a larger catchment area attracts larger crowds than club from a smaller catchment area. Nothing really there to brag about is there.

Need to make their mind up, they keep telling us they aren’t owned by Saudi but every now and again the mask slips.
See the mags all over it ! Defend and deflect ! No players paid by the Saudi state 😂😂😂
Yep including Neil Farrington lecturer at Sunderland Uni. Not been the same since he got the boot at the Chronicle
