The stadium was all noise and colour and made for a good backdrop to a very high quality game. I agree Pickford is personally playing ok for Everton, but in a team that’s constantly losing or in ramsdale s case a team potentially finishing 3rd or even pope in I hate to say i, a team on the up

OP questioned whether Saudi invested in the region since the takeover, not whether the investment was a direct result of the takeover.

The answer to that, as Jlaws has said, is more than likely not.

So if spurs were in poor form, but Leeds were doing well, you'd drop Kane for Bamford at the world cup ?

It's nonsense, you pick the best players available to you to suit the formation that you think gives the squad best chance of success. If Pickford is the best keeper in the squad, then he starts. Simple as that.

I think the point is when all of those idiots saw Riyals in their eyes and were doing mental gymnastics to make the takeover happen they coined the phrase “investment in the region”. Embarrassingly even MP’s latched on to it. Meanwhile we were all saying it why do the need to own NUFC for Jamie Rueben or PIF to invest in the region? I said all along the purchase wouldn’t happen until Saudi settled it’s differences with Qatar. I also said that would be likely with an Asian games and World Cup on their doorstep which Saudi qualified for. I was proven right.

There is definitely some form of coordination it would appear. Whether the journalists are explicitly on the pay roll or are just complicit. I read recently how many PR companies are employed in image washing and the sums are phenomenal. Also they have interests in our media recently buying the evening standard and maybe the I newspapers. There is an updated version of this somewhere

The Saudis aim to do the same but with their image and sphere of influence, using PR companies and buying up media companies. Also Saudi media group bid nearly billion for Chelsea I think.
