He will go with Pickford out of loyalty despite Everton having another terrible season, probably with a few others like Maguire and rashford, this of course has some pros that he has players that have done well in the past, tho ultimately failed, if winning trophies is the yardstick, I’d go for players who are confident and on form

Tend not to watch the Mags when they're on TV as a rule but watched yesterday as I expected them to get battered. Was one of those games you couldn't take your eyes off and tbf to them it looks like they've got something going. The stadium was all noise and colour and made for a good backdrop to a very high quality game. Lets face it they aren't going down so we need to make sure we go up so we can get ourselves involved again.

He is a 7/10 goalkeeper. Probably second choice behind Pickford.

Drop Pickford because he helped get you to the final and almost win it in the shootout?

I rate Pope very highly. I rate Pickford very highly.

Pickford hasn’t done anything to warrant being dropped by England and seems to raise his game when needed. I hope playing behind a shocking Everton team doesn’t wreck his confidence this season.

I always liked him up until a few months ago. I do however think he's a better all round keeper than Pickford.

Re Defoe - we also don’t know how much convincing the club did to get him to sign up in the first place

He may have been badgered and badgered about it and then thought “oh okay then let’s give it a go”

I’m like that with household chores and as soon as the hoover starts whirring I think “what have I got myself into?”
